Two questions. Should our grandparents have to spend their twilight years stuck in residential homes away from family and friends, and the normal surroundings that they are obviously used to?Do we British, and you American's take old age for granted? We tend to see our grandparents as a burden to us, Yes, or No ?

Hello, mcgill! being sons and daughters,we must respect our parents and grand parents and should take care of them in their old age.after all they have spent everything for our upliftmentand it becomes obligatory for us to take care of them.there is no need of old age home.they should NOT be treated as a burden thank you.

Hello bbsr. Here in Britain our old people are treated by both this and successive Government's as a burden to Society as a whole, not only in residential care, but also in State pensions provision. I agree with your sentiments entirely.
