question about best response

I have another question for mylot users of course.
If you respond to someone and they have already picked their best response do you get the points for responding? Someone else posted something that made me think you don't.
Now if I have advice for someone, the fact that I don't get points isn't going to stop me from responding, especially if they are my friend. I am just wondering if that is indeed the case.
thank you in advance.
B

I think My Lot gives points for a good quality responses. I imagine that we still get points if a best response has already been given. I like to respond to a discussion if it interests me and I don't worry if there is already a best response. Yes, responding to a friends post is something I like to do. If one of my friends answers many of my posts I look at their profile and perhaps don't see a topic to interest me. So I look back at their old discussions and respond to a discussion written six months ago that has already got a best response. I know when I give out a special response I am happy when even more people respond. Sometimes I have had three responses that are excellent and giving a best response has been challenging. The earning system on My Lot is complicated but having fun and making friends from different countries is why I love My Lot.

I'm sure we still get paid for our responses. I really don't think best response means very much since there is nothing written in the guidelines about it. I wouldn't stop responding since I believe every response does count whether they have chosen one or not.
