If you consider yourself a hardcore Doom fan, you've most likely looked for online Doom. Luckily enough, there are myriads of source ports around the net, like jDoom, Vanilla, and my personal favorite, ZDoom. The best client I've seen so far has been ZDaemon, having an awesome anti-cheat and supportive community. What Doom ports do you play? Do you consider yourself a 'Doomgod'? What inspired you to decide to look for online Doom?

There are two ports that I consider big players in the world of Online Dooming.
ZDaemon is a port created with the competitive Doomer in mind. It is by far one of the most complete in the ways of 1on1 and CTF. I play daily, and am only getting better. I'm an extremely avid Doomer on ZDaemon, and very well versed on quite a few select famous maps! ZDaemon is my favorite port, especially when I wanna shoot people in the face with a Double-Barrel Shotgun ;) ZDaemon also has regular tournaments and leagues like ZDaemon Dueling League (1on1 4-Division league ladder) and International Dooming League (a Capture the Flag league ladder).
Skulltag is the other port. Skulltag is more "lot sof cool new features and futuristic gameplay". They have more emphasis on new modes, like invasion and LMS, and feature extremely otherworldly games. Some of my favorites include: Ghouls VS Humans, Hide & Seek, All Out War and ZDoom Wars. These are player-created WADs (editable Doom core files) that are VERY fun to play! So basically, Skulltag is more if you wanna have loads of fun across all different types of play style.
All in all, ZDaemon is more for competitive players, and Skulltag is for casual players in my opinion.

I use Zdaemon to play Doom online. It's fun because I am able to fight against or with them around the world. I get fun there and it helps me relax from stressful uni. work.
It's the fastest, most popular, most reliable and latest Doom port I ever seen
