What does everyone think of Pitbulls?

You hear a lot of horror stories in the news about the family pitbull attacking a child and stuff, so I guess that's why a lot of people are afraid of them. They are sweet, wonderful dogs that sadly over the years have been bred to be pretty aggressive (mostly for dog fighting which is absolutely cruel!) However, when trained and brought up correctly in a loving, caring family they can make absolutely wonderful pets! It's usually when these dogs are improperly raised and cared for that you get such violent behavior.

Pitbulls are such cute puppies. When they grow up they still have the cutest faces. I like them, but I prefer to keep their ears intact and not cropping them. I think ear crops are mean.

I don't like them not because of their reputation but they just don't appeal to me. My cousin has one, he's a great, friendly dog and really good with her three daughters. People are afraid because of the media portraying them as vicious dogs, which as you know is complete nonsense any dog can become vicious if not treated/trained properly.

I have a pitbull. I think they are stereotyped to much and also I believe when someone sees a big unidentified dog they automatically say "It's a pitbull!" I feel so sorry for those poor animals that get put down without a chance and also for the innocent people who had their lives taken because some irresponsible pet owner thought it would be cool to make their dog vicious. My pitbull is a big baby and he plays very well with children. They have the potential to be the most loving pets ever and any dog can be vicious if trained that way!
