I think it would be 'Invictus' by William Ernest Henley. 'Invictus' is Latin for 'unconquered'.

The first poem I remember learning in school was Walter de la Mare's "Someone came knocking on my wee small door, Someone came knocking I'm sure, sure, sure." Or something along that line.
The poem that has had the most impack for me was Hamlin Garland's "Do You Fear The Wind?" Always brings to mind the fierce winds of prairie thunder storms.
