I am having the same problem rather severely this year. I am using the computer as a remedy, so to speak. I spend time online when I can, but I work two jobs, so it is not easy to get here. I post at a couple of other sites. I am trying to earn some points and it keeps me more motivated. I am ready for the sun and the warmth, and some days off.

Yes, I think it is more than just the normal level for me too. I live in the northwest and there has been an abnormal amount of rain and very little sun. I think that has done it to me.

The winter blues or depression actually have a technical term ( learned this in psychology class in high school )
its called Seasonal Affective Disorder.
You can research it some more but its caused by being in the dark for long periods of time. The winter months are the darker of the 12... But there is still sunshine out there. 30 minutes a day outside can increase your seratonin levels. =D go outside !!

Yes, I've heard of SAD - I've just never really experienced it before. My husband is usually the one who it effects much worse than me. Melatonin (to help you sleep) can also increase your seratonin levels.

I'm having a hard time dealing with the winter blues this year too. I think its got alot to do with the fact that its alot colder here, and more snow then I'm use to. I have taken up plastic canvas again and find that for now its working at keeping me occupied. As well as playing on pogo.com and mylot. Normally I would sleep alot of the winter away, but being a mom to a almost 4 year old and 35 pregnant, sleep dont come easy for me :)
Hope you get over the winter blues soon!

Yes, there is more rain here than usual and less sun. I am taking a 3 day/night weekend away from family & work this week to try and fight the blues.
What do you do?
