How to introduce recycling to companies and organizations that arent aware...?

I've been looking for a way to approach the company I work for, on recycling. It is a company that teaches health and promotes a raw/vegan diet and a christian approach to nutrition. I see the concern for their bodies but I believe they lack in global awareness. I really would love to see them take another approach to their company and show that they have a concern for the environment as well. Everyday I see dozens of plastic bottles get discarded, and hundreds of pounds of vegetables (unused cut-off parts, or those that are beginning to go bad) just disposed in the trash, which could be composted or given to farmers to feed their livestock.
Those are just a few examples.
I've been trying to find a website that perhaps sends out packages which encourages starting recycling programs... I cant seem to locate one. If anyone knows of one, please share the link here! ...
I also know I could approach the right people within the company and talk to them about my concern ... but Im not sure if Im ready to do that ... as it has to be the right approach to get their attention.
Any suggestions?
Your thoughts would be appreciated!

Perhaps you could talk to an organic gardener or a farmer that could use the vegetable that are a little gone for human use. I go to the supermarkets and try to get left over vegetables and fruits to put in my garden. How about going to the human resource personnel to talk about the savings in recycling. It cost money to just haul away trash but if you find the right persons they will actually take it away for free or maybe even pay the company for the privilege to take it.

I guess a lot depends on how recycling works in general in your area. If you have a private dumpster service, you could see if they also offer recycling and how much extra it would cost.
Does your city have a recycling service already? or drop-off points that people have to bring recyclables to? If that's the case, you could start small and put recycling bins in the office for cans and plastics and just drop them off yourself. Maybe the idea would catch on after that and others would help expand the program.

The recycling of the vegetables sounds like a good idea, I just don't know if it's really done. As far as recycling bottles and cans, it's a scam. Few people know it, but it actually uses more resources and power to reuse something than it is to make it from scratch. The bleaching and cleaning done to the product before it can be reused is actually more harmful than making from new.
