Everything is God's will, yes. Life seems to be a play. We are the actors, He is the director. All of us act according to the direction of God. Even if you think something is your own will, it's actually His will. He delivers his will through our mind. Still, we have a limited autonomy to do what we want. Using the autonomy, we should choice the the good one to do.

I think that whatever helps you get through the bad stuff is OK. I would never tell somebody who had lost a child that there was no such thing as God and no such place as Heaven if they were finding comfort in believing that there was. If there are things in life you really cannot change then in many ways it is best to shrug your shoulders and put it down to fate. If you can't do anything about a situation then you have to accept it. The danger is that you will start to say EVERYTHING is God's will, when in fact some of it is within your control and you could make that situation better for yourself. So it is a difficult problem.

Saying God's will is believing that God has a purpose and a reason about everything. Never assume that God turn us to wrong coz' it's really NOT. Coz He really loves us so much that nothing would compare. Mostly, people who had encounter bad experience had either forgotten the existence of God, that we are separating ourself to Him (that man can't do nothing without Him) or there was a big good thing that would come that God want us to deserve. He just want us to prepare for it.

i dont think i can categorize them as God's Will..maybe some circumstances but not all...coz i believe that its us who makes our own destiny.. through the guidance of the Almighty..

i think we all have to be aware of what is happening with us. we can never be too sure about anything, of course and we cannot blame God for all the wrong things that is happening to us, we cannot always blame God right??

Yes because gods will, if you believe in god, is above men. in that respect you can never understand it.

It seems a bit of a cop out doesn't it? It's easy to say that and to take on the air of the martyr when you can't face the fact that your attitude sucks and that it's your own negativity that pulls you down...oh woe is me, oh poor me...why do all these things happen to me all the time? Me, me, me, me, me, People need to stand back and take a good look at themselves and face the truth about the realities of life. God's will, if I understand it is for us to live happy fruitful lives basking in the glow of his love. Everything happens for a reason wether we understand it or not. Constantly focusing on all the negative aspects in a negative way is going to add up to a lot more negativity. Rather than bemoaning the fact that her son had been taken from her and how unfair that is...this lady chose to think that this is God's will. Her son is now safe in the hands of the Lord away from all the trials life can offer. She is thinking about her son...not herself.

no. i often can't convince myself that everything is in God's will. because often i just don't see the reason and justice on why certain things happen to me. but i really don't dwell too deep on it. i mean, i don't think much about reasons and everything. i might get depressed over something but i'll get up and forget about it after a few days. its not good to question everything. at least for me. its just better and convenient to accept things and live with it. ^__^

God has the overall say. Nothing good or evil can befall you without his authority. He is Sovereign and Supreme and in all things - I mean AAAAAAALL, give thanks to Him.

i do believe in god but if i was in that position where the god i trust chose to take one of my children i dont think i could ever forgive him for that, that may sound very harsh to devout christians but my children mean more to me than any god could.

Everything that is happening in our life is God's will. He knows that there's no such problem that we can't solve. The only thing we can do is to ask for His guidance through prayers.

No, I don't say it's god's will and let things pass, nor do I believe in 'god's will'. I believe and bad luck/good luck, and I often blame things on luck. I'm atheist, so I don't blame things on 'god'. If everything goes against me, i'll take steps to change it, but if i can't, too bad for me.

Why Do Things Happen? - Blessed Be in a Floral Swirl
Subha, I intentionally did not read any of the other responses to your question because I think each of us has our own personal belief on this subject. In addition to that, it is my own personal belief that no one that is alive can say for sure who is right and who is wrong. However, I would never argue that with anyone who is strong in their faith that it is their God's Will that something happens in their lives. If that is what they believe, and that belief keeps them strong and gives them hope; in that case, who in the world am I to say that they are wrong? Again, it is ONLY my personal opinion, and I would not want to push it on anyone else; but the Divine Being (you can put whatever name on that being you wish to) that I believe in would never have intentionally caused the accident that stopped my 23 year old son and 2 of his friends from walking the earth in their forms several years ago. That Divine Being would not cause famine, HIV/AIDS, wars in the name of religion, etc. There is a wonderful book titled "Why Bad Things Happen To Good People" (I think that's the correct title). It is not a religious book, but one that puts a lot of things into perspective. I highly recommend it to just about everyone I know that has questions such as yours.~Donna

That's always the best excuse. lol. How many people is able to face up to reality and accept it. It's easy to say everything is God's will. Perhaps it is also god's will that i respond to this discussion :PPP

I think that not for everything we can say its a God's will. For example if somebody decide to end his life this is his decision and not god's will. We can live our live as we want based in our decisions. There are events that we can't do anything but life is life and we must live it as it comesand as we build it.

Hi subha12, Yes. Most of the times things will happen according to the God's will. Some times when a thing go wrong because of human mistake(like putting a finger in fire)we can't blame the God. Good Luck.

Sometimes but we should also think that it is our decision that causes things to went wrong. If we did not make a decision then perhaps it will not happen. So before blaming it to God, we must contemplate first if our decision is right or wrong.

I don't think so.If anything is God's Will, the rascal isn't be punished.A lot of welldoer will be hurted. We should struggle with anything that is reasonless.
