Just curious. Our eltric and gas bill went up 15% and will go up and addional 63% in a few months. We pay about $120.00 in the Summer cause we keep it very cold inside. We pay about $30-$40 a month in the winter because we only put the heat about once or twice a winter and when we do we set it to 55-60 degrees. This is for a 1 bedroom apartment. How much does your bill uasaly cost. I am curious how much it cost in other state and other part of the world.

cold in winter - It doesn't get cold here, well not freezing cold. That's a good thing about living in South Florida.

Try living in South Florida. We don't use gas, just electricity, in our home. Our electric bill was over $300 a month (less than half of that was for actual usage. The rest was fees tacked on for this and that, including repairs for damage caused by hurricanes over the past few years...none this year) for the past 4-5 months. Just got new bill and it is now $170, but we were gone for a week in November and also had a week of cooler weather, so we didn't have to turn the a/c on as much. We pay $150-$170 per month during the winter now, and we set our thermostat on 56-58. We have a 3 bedroom house that's about 2,000 s.f. under air, and no pool. During the summer we usually set our thermostat between 76-78, so it's not freezing in here by any means.
