Which book store do you think is best? Do you think they are both the same? I like both stores but the other day I was looking for a certain book at Borders and they didn't have it. The next day I happened to be by a Barnes & Noble so I thought I may as well look there to see if they had the book (I really didn't think they would because Borders didn't have it) after looking up the title on the computer I found out that they had it. They had a lot of books of the same interest which Borders didn't have. I was kind of shocked.

They both have their good and bad points. Barnes and Nobles is larger and is more likely to have what you are looking for plus they have a nice website component. But I much prefer the staff at my local borders to the staff at my local Barnes and Nobles. Plus I like the reward card system at Borders better than the one at Barnes and Nobles. I shop at both just depending on what I am looking for and how good the internet coupon is as borders that week.

I rarely go to borders as well. I agree that they are way smaller than Barnes and Noble and Barnes have a lot more book selection. Plus I feel that the atmosphere at Barnes is much friendlier. Borders also don't have a discount card like Barnes, which I really need because I buy a lot from Barnes!

I rarely go to Borders. The one here is half the size of Barnes and Noble and then never have what I am looking for. Barnes and Noble is 100 times better than Borders.

At one time thee was a Barnes & Noble and a Borders within walking distance of my house. I always preferred the Barnes & Noble. So, quess which one they just closed? Yep, my favorite. Guess I'll have to learn to like Borders since it's all I've got at the moment.

I think that Borders is better and that's not just because I work at one. For one, Barnes and Noble charge for their card where Border's card is free. Two, Barnes may be bigger in "some" places, Borders can be big, depends on where you look, but I have found Borders to have a better and bigger selection of what I need. People complain that we don't have the book that they want, but you can order said book and have it come in a week at Borders. Also, I have had to call Barnes on numerous occasions to see if they have a book that we don't and you guessed it, they didn't have it either.

I am partial to Barns and Noble. I get coupons on a regular basis from Barnes and Noble. I think they have a bigger selection of books as well. I also get free shipping with pnline purchases over $25. I also have gotten great deals on toys as well a movies from Barnes and Noble that I know I could not get at borders. It is still a personaly choice as to which store you want to use. I know a lot of point sites give gift certificates for borders not barnes and noble. In this case you would make your purchases at borders.

Neither I'm finding that there is less and less choice due to the disappearance of the smaller book shops. The chains have all the same books and they are relying on biographies and recommendations from programmes like Richard and Judy, rather than getting in decent books. If you want anything you have to order it, so how can new authors get known.
