lately ive been wanting another child

my friend was on the depo shot for 3 years, they told her she needed a break from it because it can do something funky to your body. that and her insurance had just gotten canceled. she was told that she most likely wouldn't get pregnant for at least 3 months after, she got pregnant within a month. lol

I'm not 100% sure how they work but if they're like the pill then anything can happen - but you don't wanna TRY & get pregnant coz that's when nothing usually happens. My mother in law fell pregnant within weeks of coming off the pill on more than 1 occasion - although her & her hubby were both very fertile ^_^ I think it just depends on how long your body takes to get back in to a normal routine. My Dr always said it can take anywhere from 3 months, some women can get pregnant immediately after stopping, other women it can takes month - even over a years. You really just need to make sure your timing is good & try not to expect too much within the first 6 months coz your body will need to recover & flush all the hormone stuff out of it's system! I was on the implanon (just the under the skin implant that lasts for 3 years), i had it in for a little over 12 months & everything was good, i had it removed & was pregnant within about 3 months so i guess that one doesn't leave too much of a trace in your arm - but i think that contraceptive is different again with how it works. HAHAHHAHAHAHAH I was on it WHEN I got pregnant with my 3rd child. But if it is anything like birth control pills should be, then it will take you between 6-12 months to get pregnant after you stop getting the shot. That is just an estimate based on my experiences. Every time I stopped taking birth control I was pregnant 9 months later. Good luck!
