my father has alzheimers. has anyone been going thru this?

my father is getting pretty bad this last year. he's always in a fog. staring off. has lost his connection to his body and his mind. it seems that everyone i talk to has a family member with this condition. is it just in the united states? or are people all over the world suffering from this as much? how do you cope? i feel like i've lost my father even though he's still there.

I know it's been some time since you posted, I hope things are well still with your Father.
I do not have anyone who has altzheimers in our family. Though we think a lil senile and starting to tip toe at times tward dementia. I really have sympathy for your and anyone else who is dealing with this affliction.
I do not know where this disease stands on a global basis. But like anything it's a newer disease w/o a known cause just yet. I hope treatments are better when I get that age.
