Anaemia affects a large number of women particularly in menstrual years. Even that large number of women is a minority however when it comes to the number of women who suffer from low iron levels. This results in fatigue, constant tiredness, irritabilty and sometimes fainting. Do you know how to deal with these symptoms?

I have suffered with anemia most of my life. My blood doen't clot and a little nick or scratch bleeds like I cut a vein. I have to take a multi vitamin and iron tablet every day, eat red meat once a day, and I have to be careful of what I eat as some foods are natural blood thinners like rhubarb. Do not eat rhubarb if you have anemia. Eat oranges as they build blood back up but stay away from grapefruit if you take certain medications like betablockers for the heart or bloodpressure because the grapefruit juice with conteract the medication. Also if you take iron you may also have to take a laxative to relieve constapation. Do not drink tea with your meals eithr. Drink tea at least 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after a meal as the tea with block your body from naturally absorbing the nutrients it needs from the food you consume.
