Speghetti, how do you make it?

I make speghetti different ways in different seasons or on days with lots of time or little time. Which noodles do you like to use? Thin speghetti or vermicelli noodles or regular speghetti? I like thin speghetti noodles the best. Before my children were around I liked putting chopped celantro, onion, tomato, mushroom also black pepper and oregano. Now with my children I had to leave out chopped mushroom and tomato and also onion, but a good way to get it in there and them not knowing is by blending them in the blender with the sauce. Tell me your way so I can try it.

I prefer regular spaghetti and it has to be cooked (al dente)! I hate soft mushy pasta. Haha I sometimes make the spaghetti with oil and garlic. When I am bored with a red sauce I will cook and can of goys beans, season them the way I like and mix that with my pasta. White clam sauce is very good too with spaghetti. As for cheese I prefer Locatelli Pecarino Romano - taste's so good. Now I am hungry.

i really love spaghetti and i think i can eat just that for a straight week.. haha.. when i cook spaghetti, i cook it al dente (according to package instruction). here in our place we dont have much canned whole or diced tomato, what we have here are just the sauce so that would do for me. i'd sautee garlic, onions add some ground beef, pepper and last i add sliced mushroom. topped with cheeze.. yummm!

Sounds good to me, hehe Gett'in hungry? I like that al dente (according to package instruction) When I was about 11 or 12 I would stay at my friends house all the time and she always had the box speghetti and sauce packet when her mom was at work and I just loved that stuff, Ofcorse it could of been the freedom of the house or that was all they could offord at the time. To me it was cool making something from a box. lol

I love long regular spaghetti the best but I enjoy other types to from time to time. One thing I hate is spaghetti in a restaurant. I don't know why they can't get it right? Even the spaghetti factory throws me off! However I have to say I have enjoyed fettuccini Alfredo in a restaurant a few times. Do you enjoy good old fashion spaghetti in a restaurant?

I tend to like the thicker ones for some reason. Maybe it is just easier to get around on the fork. But my mom usually makes, I haven't really cooked anything yet, but from what I can gather, there is the noddles, the sauce and a few extra herbs that gets thrown in. Every now and then, there are some extra mushrooms and tomatoes thrown in as well.

When i wanted to eat spaghetti, i will go to restaurants that i know serves the kind of sauce that i want. I want a sauce from real tomatoes, well canned whole/chopped tomatoes, sauted in garlic and onion. seasoned with Italian spices like, basil, oregano and parsley. I dont like having meat in them. :-)

My favorite way is to put a little EVOO, salt, garlic powder, lots of dill and a little bit of butter. My kids love it, and I loved it as a kid. You can also sprinkle mozzarella or parmesan(or both), too. I usually make a spaghetti sauce on the side for those who want it. My kids don't care for red sauce or anything w/ tomatoes. I do alot of alfredo sauce and the kids are just fine w/ it. Sometimes it's the shape of the pasta. They have some disney shaped pasta now. when the kids were younger they really liked the bowtie noodles and the spirals. Long noodles are too hard to eat for toddlers, sometimes. My favorite pasta is angel hair.

Most of the time I use a can of dices tomatoes and cook them down a little bit. Then I add the spices that I want. It is usually oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, basil and a little bit of salt. I like to use either thin spaghetti noodles or angel hair pasta and grate some fresh cheese on top.

I tend to like my spaghetti plain. I do not like ground beef or vegetables so for me it is usually just the sauce and the noodles. My favourite kind of noodles to use are schoobi doo noodles however, we seem to only have maccaroni noodles in the house these days so that is what I use the most. I use ragu origional sauce and do not even bother to add any spices to it. I like it just as it is in the bottle. I measure out one cup of maccarnoi noodles for myself and then boil them for ten minutes. I put my "spaghetti" in a bowel and leave the other half of the noodles for the next days dinner. I find cooking the noodles to be such a time consuming hassle that I would rather make more noodles and save them then cook them everytime I am hungry and on the mood for spaghetti. Home made spaghetti, my way or course, is my favourite food. And I am now in the mood to go make some. :p

Man, you're making me hungry :-P I prefer Angel Hair pasta. I am Italian and so I love to make my own sauce to go over it, which includes onions, peper, parsley, salt, a tiny pinch of sugar (in order to get the bitterness of the tamotoes out of the sauce) and Chopped Garlic of cause. And of course a can of crushed tomatoes....Man, I am really getting hungry darn it!!! ;-P

From my point of view the best spaghetti is the thinnest. Then, for a sauce, the best base is a good tomato paste. After that you just add whatever strikes your fancy. Fresh, lean, mince is usually preferable and you don't cook anything for long. Just make sure the sauce is hot and spicy. Any kind of cheese will do, parmesan doesn't have to be a must. Let the cheese melt a bit, of course. I'm not a chef but this usually takes me about five minutes to make. And it always tastes good.
