sociopath .... your take

I think they're either people born without feelings, they were taught to ignore their feelings from a young age and they suceed, or events happened in their life to make them lose their emotions.

I don't think a sociopath is so much someone that has no feelings, as they are people that have taught themselves to ignore their feelings. They usually always wind up messing their lives up in some way or another, but always seem to have a story to rationalize it or they have someone else to blame for whatever they did. They tend to be almost pathological liers, they are incredibly fake, they have poor impulse control, they are very manipulative and exploit practically everyone they know to get something. And when confronted with what they are doing, which invariably happens, they sometimes act violently, or they just run away never to be seen again, which kind of explains why they can't seem to keep friends or lovers for very long. All of these things are defense mechanisms that they use to try to solidify a false reality that they have created for themselves, because if they actually face the real world, they will find that they are not as special, or entitled as they like to think they are. At the end of they day they just have an incredibly low self esteem. At least that's my take on it.
