That is a terrible feeling, would you trust a stranger that was trying to help you Now a days you half to be careful, who you trust. I do have Triple A but sometimes, you don't want to call them, because they only allow you 5 or 6 times for their Service a Year. Tell me about the time you got stranded, what did you do.

I think that would be more like Speechless, or your were Stage Frightened.. Strand would be left if your Car broke down or, you needed a ride and no one came to get you.

I know what you mean Marcie. It would be my luck to be stranded with no bars on my phone to make a call out for help.

I have found that over the years if you are a nice person and are willing to help people and you do help people, those are usually the type of people you run in too. Most people are nice and helpful, I have been stranded many times and people have helped. If you life "do onto others as you would have done unto you" Also "what goes around comes around" That how things will be for you. Your a nice kind person Marcie, I am sure if you got stranded, someone would be there to help you out. Its true we do have to be careful, but I do think most people are nice.

Yes, I have and needless to say it was not fun. I had gone to a store with my 2 kids in the only car my husband and I had at the time. It was about 15 miles away from my home. When I got out of the store I put my boys in the back and buckled all three of us up. As I attempted to back out I noticed the car wouldn't roll right. At first I thought I forgot to release the emergency brake, but that wasn't it. I drove the car about 3 spaces from where I parked, then reparked in another spot. I got out and found out I had a flat tire. It wasn't just a little flat, it was as flat as a pancake. And to top it off I was sick with a cold (along with my kids) and it was raining out! I called my husband in hopes that he could get a ride with our neighbor and rescue me, but no such luck. Fortunately a man and his wife (I'm assuming) drove by and asked if I needed help. I said yes and the man changed my tire for me while I made sure my kids didn't go at each other's throat in the car. Once he was done I gave him what cash I had, I only wish it would have been more, I was so grateful. He did try to decline and told me to keep it for my kids, but I insisted and just about broke down in tears, so he hesitantly took the money. I just hope I didn't give him that cold I had. I'd feel just awful if I did.

Where I am living now I might trust a stranger, but when I lived in the city I would be a little apprehensive. I remember one time about 7 1/2 years ago I ran out of gas with my son in the car. He was just a baby. An old man stopped to help us out. He lived just up the road from where I got stranded. He took us to the gas station to get some gas. I realized when he pointed out his house that he was the grandfather of a girl I had gone to school with.

I had to pee really bad so he took me off the exit to the gas station. it was less than a mile. later i told people this and they told me that i shouldn't have got in the truck with this guy. But i really had to go!!

I've only been driving about a year and a half with license, but in December, I worked both jobs and was going home, and the car stopped on me on the highway. I had to wait until I got a friend to pick me up which took her about an hour since she lived opposite from me, then she took me home. I didn't like that feeling so that same night, I put in for the Mr Rescue(similar to AAA) with my cell phone AND I also have AAA as well which I signed up for in January so that gives me peace of mind. As a woman, I truly feel that if your on the road, you should come equipped and be ready for whatever happens out there. I only recently got my car back after being out of a car for like two months, and I had to buy a new battery because when my old one was stolen from me while it was waiting to be towed. No stranded is not a good thing. I also had to work certain days Christmas Eve, New Years Eve, Martin Luther King, Mardi Gras where the bus definitely wasn't running and my car was still being fixed, but each time, I was blessed to have a ride home. thanks for a great topic.

By the way, I am not so down with strangers, but if I have a good feeling and feel right on it, I may go with it. But for the most part, NO.

I got stranded up by the canadian border which is miles and miles and miles from my home. I was literally in the middle of nowhere. I had no choice but to accept the help of strangers. I was so lucky. A woman came by and let me into her home and called a friend of hers who was a mechanic. She served me coffee and I stayed with her until her friend fixed my car. He charged me a very reasonable rate and had me running in no time.
