Today I was trying to think of something crafty I could do with my old cards, letters and used envelopes. I get lots of cards for all holidays and i get pen pal letters(lots of them) and I wanted to think of something cool and crafty I could do with them instead of having them stuffed in a box taking up room.Any ideas. I thought for one idea was to use the cards and envelopes(the sturdy ones) and sew them together to make a bag out of them like the capriesun pouch bags. Any other good ideas?

Wow, I have picked up an idea on what to give to my boyfriend through this topic thank you for putting this up, I have thought of making a collage with all the front cover of the cards, but that is so typical. So I guess the other suggestions will be much more creative. Good luck with your project!!

You could make a collage of everything, or like someone else said, scrapbook it. You can also make little boxes out of cards - I used to do that with Christmas cards because they always had pretty pictures on the front. The front page would be the top of the box and the back page would be the bottom. I used that idea for party favors at a wedding last year too, it comes in pretty handy!

Cut out the main characters and phrases on the cards and use them in scrapbooking or to create new cards and gift tags. Another idea, one that I use... I make a shadowbox 3-D picture. Sometimes it is called 3-D Decoupage. Usually, it is done with like pictures and layers of cut-out of the same pictures, but I have found that different items can be placed around and still have a really cool effect. Find a card that has a really cool base photo. Use the picture or photo as a base. Cut out other accents from various others, and using either silicone glue or pop dots, create layers, placing the items around the photo. For example... you could use a fireplace with tree and stockings-type scene for the base. Simply cut out some stockings, another tree, ornaments, presents, etc. from other cards. Place these around at different levels, and some on top of each other. This creates a whole new scene! Tip: when you cut out the accent items (anything not on the base), use a watercolor marker or ink daubers to coat the white-cut edges. This adds depth to your project. When you are done, you can either use the new picture as a card for someone or frame it for a beautiful gift or even your own home. You can enjoy your Christmas cards for a lifetime!

you can cut interesting pictures from the cards and arrange them. Then you can glue them to furnitures of kids or on wooden boxes etc.see that no bubbles are formed when you paste the pictures. On drying brush it with a coat of colorless varnish used to coat wood for a glossy finish.Perhaps its called polyutherine coating. when it dries coat it once or twice according to choice.Be sure coating dries properly before the second.Let it dry naturally for a nice finish.
