I need a little advice and tips on moving house..

As i am going to move myself from my mom's place to my own small apartment that i am renting out so i can study and work at the same time.. i need a little help from u guys here who must have done the same at some point in their life! Little things like what i may need let it be putting curtains in my new apartment or needing something important like making sure the plumbing is good cos i'd be living alone. Also tell me what i will need to be careful about..any kind of advice would be welcome and because i am from India, and i am not moving into a very furnished apartemnt i have only few things like a waching machine, microwave, mixer grinder that i am taking along.. need to buy a mini fridge..it is not a furnished apartment...so the rents are low.. thankfully as i have to now support myself..taking my desktop with me though so i can be connected to the world..smiles
