Throughout my school life I have seldom studied more than 2 hours a day.I have always been a topper in my class. But i have seen friends as well as fellow students study upto 10 hours a day.How many hours do you think is necessary. How can you optimize study hours?

I have always been a hard learner and have not spent less than 3hours a day after classes studying or doing some kind of educational exercises to help me progress. I work hard but being ADD, life gets pretty tough when trying to concentrate on the not-so-grabbing subjects. My mean grades for my entire studying career are average but lately, suppose its age, iv been getting better grades. So to my surprise my results are progressively increasing. The more you put in, the more you get out...A basic economic principle. However, overworking yourself is as harmful to the system as not working hard enough is for your grades. Balance is the key concept.

You are what a student should be. I study because although I hate it ,because it is the only thing i am good at.But working hard at anything is not my thing,as I think i have ADD too. I can never concentrate at anything I am not particularly good in.

I don't really spend too much time studying in a day. I only do that if there is exam coming up. But on a daily basis, well, I am a wide reader. I read different kinds of articles.

well accoding to me if we study 1 hour daily that we r studied from school..we can make topper..
one thing is also that we should be study concentratly because if we study with full concentration then the topic that we study can not be lost from our mind..
and also while studying our mind and heart both are in study..
by doing this we can consume more than a lot of time study in day

Study is a combination of actions:
Keeping notes in lectures and laboratories.
Reading them as often as possible and repaeating it several times.
Trying to make a lecture myself in front of a mirror or for a mate.
Recording the lectures with my digital pocket recorder and listening them when riding, buss, MC, bicycle , jogging etc.
Reading related books and articles.
Searching the web for related information.
This is a short list of actions needed to study and learn. It takes time but as the old greeks used to say: "Studies need long time, lots of labor and a considerable cost, but the fortune will be bright."
Here is how to say it in ancient greek:
"Eh spoudeh chrizousin, kopou polou, chronou makrou keh thapanis ou mikras kai tees teechees eisteh lampras."
Good luck to all with your studies fellows.
