Such a shame. PT that is. When I was a youngster he joined Palace from Southend and at the time he was the best player I had ever seen in a Palace shirt. I guess times were different then and not all the great talent went straight to the premiership. Taylor was outstanding and instrumental in Palace's FA Cup run to the semi's as a 3rd Division team. Taylor basically beat Chelsea on his own with 2 outstanding goals, which can be found on youtube. England played an U-23 game at Palace, where Taylor made his England U-23 debut and scored. I am pretty sure he played for the full England team before leaving Palace for the Spuds. As a winger he scored a goal every 4 games for Palace and Spurs. When he joined Palace as manager we all expected so much. And in both seasons he took the team to the top of the league only for it to fall off drastically. He is such a professional and pleasant person, which maybe is his problem and he seemed to make some shrewd signings in the summer transfer window. All the signings this last summer have appeared to been failures and none of the players get anywhere near the first team with Neil Warnock. Considering that Taylor had a good reputation with young players, he chose not to once play any of the youngsters in the Palace reserves and youth setup, something that Warnock has done with success.
