Offers going down

I noticed when I first started writing articles almost 3 years ago, they start you off with more and lower it. Or so it seemed. Although, at the time it wasn't as drastic as it is now. When I started, they did flat dollar amounts, no cents involved. That lowered payment by a few pennies each time generally when that started. Then they started that page views program and payments really dropped. But my first article got me $15, then I got $13, and after that for awhile it just kept going. Then the most I got was $50, so that kept me there. But lately I have been very disappointed with the way things are going. There already is a trick they use to get the offers under $3. If they tell you that they won't pay for it, they try to get you to publish it anyway for page views. I think that's their way of saying that they want to just start paying page views only. I for one am not writing for page views alone. I'm not sure if length is related to pay or what, but what worked there in the past doesn't seem to hold true any longer so it's hard to give any advice on what to do with their new system.
