big fire in downtown Toronto

There was a six-alarm blaze in downtown Toronto today. News reports say half a dozen businesses and apartments were gutted in the historical Queen St W area. I know a lot of people who live and work in the area and I'm already hearing friends talking about people who have been made homeless by the fire. Fortunately nobody was hurt, but people lost everything they owned, including pets. It's a pretty frightening situation. Have you ever lived through a fire?
