Start asking yourself questions. If you ask yourself one you can't answer, make it a discussion. If you ask yourself something and you like your answer but think your way of thinking about it is a little off, put it out here and see if others agree with you or not.
I talk to myself ALL the time. Instead of answering myself I post those questions here and voila, 3 months later I am almost at 1000.
Good luck and happy posting!

What do you like to write about? What concerns you? That is two things to look for. For instance, if you have a hard time keeping your floor clean because the kids track all over it, write about that. You just cannot pick a topic out of mid air and write about it. It has to really touch you, and for most, a personal experience often brings up what subject they can really get into. For instance, in my case, there were two recent experiences, one that occurred frequently and the other that seldom happened. So look to your past, your enjoyments, your daily life, and then you will have no trouble.

I think mylot is very useful, if you want to find the topics you hoped and interested, you could use the search and find the right topics. If you have any problems, you could start a topic and look after help, and so on.

I answer more than I start, but will start one if I feel strongly about something. One the other day which surprised me with the number of responses was about instantly disliking people, I like most people but two for some reason I had taken an instant dislike too, a gut feeling thing and was proved right in both cases. This was fresh in my mind as one of these people I saw visiting a neighbour so it was bought to the surface. What interests do you have, choose a topic from one of them maybe. Some of mine I have started have only ever received one response though so you can never tell really. Ellie:D
