what can i do to open this website quickly?

it takes much time,nearly 5 minutes to open this website for me. i know the main reason is the place the website server in. as it is in America, while i am in China.
anyone here has good ideas to quicken the speed, thus i can post discussions conveniently.

You could set your browser to not display the pictures and animations when it loads the page. You will loose some of the content, but it should speed up the loading of the page. It takes a while to load the pictures. Other than that I am not sure. Do you have dial up or DSL? I know when we had dial up it took a while to load the site. Now we have DSL and it loads in a flash.

thank u for your advice. i use DSL, it seems quick when i log on the domestic website, only open a forien website takes long time. reseting my browser to not display the pictures may work. but how can i reset it? can u give special instructions? thank u

If you are using Internet Explorer, look under Tools, then Internet Options, then the advanced tab. Toward the bottom of the page is the section for multimedia options. You can enable/disable sounds, animations, and pictures here. On other browsers it should still be in the internet options section or maybe preferences. Hope this helps.

Yes some time same problem happen to me. Actually some times the speed of my net connection perform very slow so i use it at the time the speed of my net connection is fast. for more speed i use the browser Mozila fire fox and i use the Nod 32 anti virus for security and it also increase your web speed. hope you will satisfy from the answer.

i use browser Internet explorer 7.0 and have Ravin anti virus protected my computer.
i find it's really the time you choose to surf internet that decides the web speed. thus i decide to open my computer in early morning tomorrow.

I was in China 2 years ago. I don't think there is a better way to solve your problem since you are using DSL Internet Connection.
Anyway, turning off pictures and flash would be a good way but much inconvenient.
My suggestion is to immigrate to Canada and after you landed here, you will feel the visiting speed like a phew.....

turning off pictures and flash does work, while much fun and interest is lost at the cost. also, as what you said, it's not convenient.
i can't imagine the internet speed like a phew, how fast it is. i envy you.i think it's impossible to immigrate to Canada though i desire to. so much limitations that you can imagine. sigh~~,thanks for your reply.i've decided to log on mylot early in morning.
