Do you rent movies? Where do you go? Online or in-person?

I was at Hollywood Video the other day looking at some of the used DVDs they sell. They usually have good deals on the DVDs they rent out, something like 3 for $25 or something like that. It got me to thiking: do you rent movies or just buy them? I actually go there and just buy movies without renting them; I figure for a discount, it's nice to have movies around.
Do you rent movies at a big chain (like Blockbuster or Hollywood Video), a small local store you are familiar with, or online (through Netflix)? Does one method, either online or in-person better suit your schedule?

i use netflix. personally i like the way that it is setup. I also like the fact that the movie is always there and there is no wasting time for a movie that is not there.

Hiya,
Sorry so late, but just found this discussion, after looking over some of my first postings, and saw you were one of the very first to reply to mine. :o)
My family used to rent from VideoSmith. It disappeared from our neighborhood, and iour libraries expanded in videos. And our libraries are all branched, so if you find one you like, you can order for it to be reserved for you next in line, nand they can even have it sent to your local place to pick up. I'm not a TV watcher, but others iare in my family, and quite happy with it.
And totally free. ;o)

Actually I rent from the grocery stores. Most of them now offer $1 rentals and have all the latest movies. Its convenient, because more than likely you have to make a trip to the grocery store anyway and for $1 you can't beat it. Even taking them back is convenient and not an additional trip.

I used to rent them through netflix but I am trying to save money right now so I have cancelled my membership for now. I just go to the local video store and rent movies now I don't buy a moive unless I have rented it first in case it is not any good and I would never watch it again.

I rent movies through movie gallery here in town. I prefer to go to the movie place than to get it online. I tried the netflix thing but didn't like to wait for the movies to come in the mail. This way if I want I can watch one movie one night and go the next day to get another.
