I took my friend's drugs without permission.

Have you ever taken prescription drugs that did not belong to you? For example you may have had a tooth infection or a headache and a friend has a prescription that would help. Perhaps the illness wasn't severe enough to seek the help of your own physican, so since your friend or relative had medication readily available you took that instead. Do you think its safe to do on occassion?

Would depend on the situation, but normally I wouldn't.
If its something for pain or something where I've had it prescribed before but either don't have it with me or don't have any left, I might if the pain were severe enough.
I would never self-medicate for a condition/ailment I haven't been to a doctor about previously.
I don't like taking meds anyway, so its not likely to happen. I have to be near tears to even take Tylenol.

I pretty much feel the same way, because I absolutely hate taking pills. For years I couldn't swallow them without gagging. I'm better now, but I don't take them unless its an emergency.

Yes I have done this before now, with pain medication and antibiotics, I just make sure I read the leaflet that comes with it before I take it, I guess I cannot say for definate whether this is safe or not. It always says not to be taken by anyone other than prescribed person, but nothing bad as ever happened to me and it has always worked for me, so I guess the person who takes it has to accept that should something go wrong then its their fault for taking it!

I don't know how safe it is, statstically, but I have done it a few times. Last time was when I had a really bad headache. My father in law gave me one of his vicodins and it knocked the pain right out! Given the same circumstances, I'd do it again too.

It may be safe to do it sometimes.but it better to consult the doctor before taking any medication.because some medicines contains such high healing potential that it may lead to side effects in the body that are very severe.
