My neighbors have a 5 year old child , whom is allowed to do whatever she wants, when she wants !!!! She is constantly at my house or other neighbors home. She is always under dressed for the weather and constantly barefoot !!!!! ( It is cold where I live) She has no supervision whatsoever!!!! I have explained to her parents several times that she does not need to be left unsupervised , I worry she will get hurt upon stumbling in my husbands garage around heavy machinery and tools. ( or anything for that matter ) They don't seem to care.........Should I call child protective services ? Should I mind my own business ? What should I do ?

I advise you to call child protection services. The child's parents, aparently, are not very concerned with thir daughter's well being or safety and she should not be left on her own. She could get seriously injured or even taken by a child predator (extreme circumstances I know but one can never be too careful with their child). I would explain how the child is underdressed for the weather and how you have mentioned the to her parents your concerns for her safety and have seen no change what-so-ever in their supervision of the child. When a young person is in danger it does not matter if it is any of your business or not (and seeing as she is at your house I believe it IS your business) all that matters is the safety of this young life.

I would call protective services. If this child gets her on your property the parents will surly sue you. You need to protect not only the child but yourself also.

There is a little girl in our neighbourhood who mus be 5 at the most who is allowed to do this. She followed me one day all the way to the main road when I was on my way to pick my little one up from the nursery. I told her that if she didn't go back home to her mummy I would dial the police as she was too far from home. I have tried talking to her parents but they appear to be foreign and not understand. I do worry over her as we have a stream just near us and anything could happen. I was talking to another neighbour one day and my son was with me next minute she had grabbed him, he was two at the time. I said where do you think you are going and she was off to the park with him. He was reprimanded and cried and has never left my side since when outside of the house. Difficult one, both girls are in danger. My one is well clothed and doesn't come into any houses, but your one, I would try talking to the parents one more time before taken any action. One of my daughters when she was younger would undress and go out just in welly boots and nothing else, only our garden, but she hated clothes. Good luck whatever you decide. It is lovely that you are looking out for this little one. God bless. Ellie :D

Wow, someone has actually experinced this, too. Oddly enough I have a two year old son. I have also caught this little neighbor girl trying to lure him. I was very upset by it. I have a 5 month old baby and I was trying to buckle him in the carseat, my two year old son was standing right beside me and next thing I know he was getting ready to run across the road to her !!!!! Oh, I was so upset. I also reprimanded him and he has never took off since. Thank you so much for your input. I will try talking to them once more before I take action.
