Hey I love your avatar, it's devilishly mischievous. Maybe the appeal of rock is relative to age groups. In the 80's there was so much of it. Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Led Zepplin. In the 70's it was radical, the 80's it was full of really good talent, lots of passion. I can't comment much on the 90's as I was not as much into it. There is so much commercialism today in music, perhaps it has eaten it away. Where is the inspiration, the passion. If it's all about the money then I don't believe we get the good stuff. I'm guessing though that there needs to be something totally new in music. And it can't be the lure of money that brings it about.

^_^ ... thanks a lot. The commercialism. That is what i was wondering about. I guess its due to all these new big and/or small labels who sign artists without really caring what they are doing to the music .. I just bought 2 cds for myself .. one of them is "Iron Maiden - Greatest Hits" and the other is "Marilyn Manson - Golden Age of Grosteque" ... A stark change in everything.

I think so .. its all about making money nowdays. Due to the commercial labels .. the companies rather see thier artists/bands make music which is accepted commercially by public, bringing loads of cash instead of what the band really wants to make. Its not a fault of the bands.

Ur right .. the desire of makin ore profit is taking away the art involved in making music. Thanks for replying :)

No i do not think that rock has gone to s*h*i*t. persay.... I only think that certain artist just suck and can't make music for crap but yet they get into the radio stations. So I am thinking that the music industry is lowering it's expectations. for sure... ButI love the variety of rock type stuff that is comming out. Some of it is really cool if u just give it a chance.... But definately they are letting some goof balls play their talentless wanna be looser crap too often .. lol

i just think soem people are meant to be wedding bands and others are meant to play for the world. i think it's good to get everythign out there for all to hear but sometimes i listen to the radio and it sounds like they guys are still trying to figure out how to play their guitars....l lol.. Oh well, what u gonna do. lol. u should make your own band. if you're good then i'll buy your cd. if you suck then you might still make it ... hahaaaa/ oh boy. alright. nice talkin to ya. bye

Haha true .. i can count innumberable bands who dont know how to make music yet end up living the life they dont really deserve. But hey, I dont think i can judge until i make a band of my own and make better music than them. lol .. You're right ... some of the new music coming out is amazing. Thanks a lot for replying :)
