I was interested to buy a set of sapphire jeweleries online,
they looked so nice, and i really wanted to have them. But for some reason, i found that we should careful to "buy jeweleries online".
I am afraid if i buy the product and its not that "beautiful" as i see in internet or it has cheaper quality.
How about you, do you buy jeweleries online? Is it safe?
If you already bought and the jeweleries is really "nice" as you've seen in internet, then what site is it? I wanna buy jewel there. Thanks

you can try www.bidz.com
i've heard mixed reviews about this site, but mainly good.
it kind of works like ebay, its a large auction site, but only
for jewelery. like others have mentioned, you get what you pay
for, but you can request reports and appraisels on the items
you are buying. worth a look.

I've also heard mixed reviews about this website.
I find that a large portion of the gems on www.bidz.com have poor quality based on the listed specs (although I've never actually purchased from them yet). Also, the actual specs don't really look like the photos. I'm guessing this is why some people have complained about the product they've purchased from this site.

This is a very good point. Something that says it has minor damage may actually be quite significant.
I would be very wary about buying jewellery online.
I think a good place to buy jewelerry may be from a shopping channel cos then at least you are may more likely to be able to return it.

I have bought a lot of things via the net, but I don't buy jeweleries online because I am not interested in it. My colleague likes buying jeweleries online, but anyway they are not expensive. They look good, so she is very satisfied with it.

I have bought some jeweleries in ebay, they looks nice. but I just bought those whose value is not high. It is because I am afraid of the fake if I bought, I would be unhappy.

I would say that it would be ok as long as it is from a well known jewlery store that is nationwide and not some mom and pop store. ^^

I always buy jewelry on hsn.com or qvc.com and the quality is very good and they have any kind of price besides you can see the jewelry on the show or in their website and if you don't like it they have a very good retrurn policy.

I don't shop much online for fear of identity theft, The only time I have even bought anything online was from amazon and it was for a few movies and cd's.

My husband has purchased a fair bit of jewelry online for me. Overall, it's much cheaper than purchasing it the store where we live. And I find better selection online than in the stores.
I think it's pretty safe if you're buying from online jewelers like Bluenile, Mondera, or ice.com. They typically have good return policies so you can return the item if you're not satisfied with it. A good return policy is important when buying jewelery online. If you're not happy with the product, it doesn't match the description, or it doesn't appraise well, you can simply send it back and get your money returned.
If you're buying on eBay, you need to be careful and ask lots of questions. There is a lot of jewelry that is fake, or not as described. Remember, you get what you pay for. Check feedback, and look at the prices of similar products. Ask about genuine verses lab created, clarity, if it's eye clean, color, size, weight, if it's been clarity or color enhanced, quality of the cut, metal type (filled, plated, solid, karat), and if the photograph is the actual image of the item being sold (I find occasionally that it's not - they just use a generic picture to sell various similar products). Also check if it's been certified or appraised by a respectable gem association.
Good luck shopping! Buying jewelry online can be a lot of fun, and save you a ton of money compared to buying it in a store.

I think it depends where you wanted to buy them from. If you buy them from a place like overstock.com or bluefly.com it should be safe, and there are generally additional discount coupons you can find online (in about the 10% range). The best thing about them is that both of these online retailers have very good return policies.

I've purchased from several websites and have had great luck because I do my homework first. Check to see what there return policy is and is there customer service good? I've bought jewelry from rosssimons.com(real) and hollywoodlux.com (fashion) and have been pleased by both..Good luck.
