My Lover is now my best friend

The other night i had a sit down with my girlfriend, we ended up making the biggest decision of well my life.
We decided we should just be friends. 'soulmates...and always be a big part of each others life.
I suppose its because we are young, and shouldnt really be in a serious relation ship this young. but, i do love her more then anything in my life.
I will always be there for her, and will protect her, and see her through life. after all b/f and g/f or not, she was ALWAYS my soulmate, and still is.

That is a very mature thing to be able to do. Most young people can't express themselves that way. I'm not not much older than you, and I've been with my bf for almost 3 years. I'm lucky that he is a great communicator. If you don't mind me asking, what was the reason for the change?

I wish my lover (husband) was my best friend. I think that is one of the things that are contributing to the failure of our marriage. I can't even be honest with him over anything and just be myself. He has standards for me as his wife and the mother of his children. Maybe if we had been friends first, things would be different now. You are making a very smart decision. Most people end up hating each other, but you two are being so mature. Best of luck!
