Respond to a discussion, think about it later and it was stupid?

I hate when I can't get my subject to fit in the box right! lol...Anyway, have you ever responded to a discussion and you thought about your response later and realized it didn't really apply to the question? Yesterday I responded to two discussions and they were on my mind for hours later because I don't think my response had anything to do with the question the writer asked. Has this ever happened to you? Have you just left them that way or do you go back and write another comment to try to "fix" the first one?

I used to go back and "fix" my answers on yahoo answers all the time. I now read everything I write twice. It can be quiet embarrassing sometimes especially when your a bit gone or tired then decide to get on and participate.

Hello cntrymuziklvr, I'm definitely a fixer LOL Or if I see that I have a spelling error after posting I also try to "Fix" that! :) I wish there was an edit option after posting.... I've even posted my own discussions and noticed mistakes in them and with that there is no way to fix it :( Happy Error Free Posting! ;) ~Heavens~

If it bothers me, I go back and add another comment. I guess I do not have a whole lot more to say about it. I try to fit in and be on topic.

No. What happens with me is I forget to post a part of the response and I add the part right away.It usually happens when there are two or more questions to the post.I have posted my response and within seconds or minutes I remember I forgot to write this or that. So I just add it to my comment.it is Never too late to make your post better. If you can make one of your posts better, then do it.

LOL - obviously you haven't seen one of my 'opps I forgot' or 'oh yea on topic' comments on my own responses :) I do this a lot but I do normally go back and 'add' to what I didn't earlier. Particularly on my friend's discussions :)

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. I think a lot of people here don't even read the responses to their discussions. the reason I say this is because if you look at all the responses to the discussion there is not one single comment to any of them. And if a person was reading all of them, they would have to make at least one comment, wouldn't they? There would be at least one question in all the responses. I sometimes get so into my responses that I may tend to wave off of the main topic of the discussion. I don't think it a big problem though and I keep responding in the same manner. You write what you were thinking about and if it goes off the topic, oh well, no one is going to brand you. Just enjoy and don't worry about it.

I think more of us do this than we realize. Sometimes I will go back and add another response, or maybe add a thread onto someone else's response. I have had others to do that to mine and I love it. It's sort of like keeping the topic open and fresh. Great topic BTW.
