When my girls were little, I used to cut their hair a lot. I'd take them to the salon occasionally, but for just a quick trim, I did it myself at home. Now that they are older and teenagers, there is no way they'd let me touch their hair! lol! They have to have the perfect haircut... and mom just can't do that! I do trim my bangs about every month or so, when I think they are getting too long, but I go to a salon every 4-5 months to get my hair shaped and styled a bit. Do you cut your kid's hair?

It can be frustrating when you go somewhere and they don't cut it the way you want them to! I hope you can either do it yourself again soon, or find someone else who can do a good job for you!

When my kids were young I never cut there hair, my sister did it for me. She cut hair real good. If I did any of the cutting they would all have uneven hair.

I cut my familys hair. My Husband will not, no matter how much I beg, go to someone else to get his hair cut. When we were first married we hsd to cut back because it was hard to get by. Now it is just one more thing that Mom has to take care of. I guess I should be thankful they are all okay with it and we can spend that money having fun.

When i was young dad used to take me to a saloon for cutting the hair. Now i'm 22. Once i saw one of my friend's doing his haircut by his own sister and enquired her whether she did any beautician course to do that i was wondering with her reply. She told that she has been never been to saloon or parlour for her hair cut. She does it self-handed by looking into the mirror and does for her dad, mom and brother.Only after that i realised that hair cutting doesn't need special skills. Now i do haircut for my dad and brother. It saves money and time too.

I Did cut my daughters hair once so far, cause she had two little long peices on each side of the back of her head.. lol they were longer then the rest cause of the bald spot they get when they are on their backs a lot. Other then that i do not think that i will be cutting her hair, i am not a good hair cutter! hehe i dont wanna mess it up. I will take her to get her hair cut at an affordable hair cutting place ;)

When I divorced the first time, I couldn't afford to get my hair cut by a stylist and besides I never really like what they did with it anyway. I knew what I wanted it to look like so I started doing it myself and have ever since. My children, I also used to cut myself, but they are the only ones whose hair I would cut. I sometimes got requests from my friends to cut theirs, but I didn't want to be responsible if they didn't like it. My children couldn't complain, although once they saw what the scissors were for sometimes took it upon themselves to cut their own. My daughter did this twice and oh what a disaster that was. In fact one time, her dad who has really long hair was sleeping on the couch and I saw her standing near him. Next thing you know he moved in his sleep, but some of his hair didn't. Oh my gosh! Fortunately it was only one lock and he didn't notice. I didn't tell him about it for several years. LOL. I will now cut my son's bangs, but I leave the rest for someone more professional, because I figure his hair and style mean more to him now than they did when he was a baby.

I cut my younger sister's hair a few years ago. Let's just say that she was not very happy with the results...I myself was pretty young too and liked to pretend that I knew how to do EVERYTHING..but in reality, I didn't know jack lol.

I used to cut all my boys hair until they were about 4 years old, they go to the hairdressers now. My daughter is 2 years and is still a bit little to go to the hairdressers yet so I do hers at the minute. I also cut my own hair, I have not been to the hairdresser in years, I just cut it every 6 weeks or so, if I do it wrong which I have a couple of times I just say I meant to do it! This all came because the last time I went to the hairdressers and told them how I wanted it, they did it totally different and it was horrible and so now I do not trust them. Only trouble is I want a total change, I have long hair at the minute, but I fancy it a bit shorter and a bit more trendier and there is no way I will be able to do that myself so I guess I will have to bite the bullet and go. I think that as soon as my daughter is able to sit and have her hair cut I will go with her and we can make a girly thing out of it.

It really is hard to find someone to cut your hair exactly the way you want it to be... That's great that you can do yours yourself!

I do when he was younger. My son doesn't want to get a hair cut. He cries so hard and we just had to restrain him. So to do away with the crying, I had him play in the yard while trying to sneak a little snap every now and then. When I cut a portion he would suddenly look back at me and I would have to hide the scissors behind my back. Fortunately, he was able to sit properly in a barbershop when he saw his dad go to one. Every month or two, taking a hair cut with his father becomes a bonding time for both of them.

I cut the hair at my house for the most part. My niece went to beauty school and she will tune up what I do. I have not been to a shop often in thelast few years. When my daughter was a teen she still preferred me to trim her long straight hair. I guess that is just how we have always been. My adult son cuts his hair, or often just shaves it all off. The ladies in his family do get shop hair cuts, but the guys basically just buzz their hair.

I am not a parent yet so I will say what happened when I was a little kiddie. I do remember my parents cutting my hair for me. They were pretending to be barbers while trying to cut my hair without making me wince. But I remember them bringing me to real professional barbers too. So I am kinda hard-pressed if you asked me which came first.:P

When I was younger my mom would cut everybodies hair. I guess it is ok when you are still young and don't care what your hair looked like. But when I got older I noticed that she had a hard time cutting hair straight. So after that I would get my hair cut at a hair salon.
