In a recent discussion I posted, the idea was raised about how much fun it would be to have a mylot reunion of sorts. Wouldn't it be interesting to be able to physically meet everyone that you have been talking to? Of course, I understand that this site is worldwide, that it would be difficult to find a place that would be suitable for everyone and that it would be difficult for everyone to attend. But if something like this could happen would you attend? And if you were planning it, what would you like to see happen? Its a fun gala to consider and probably would never be feasible, but just pretend it was and give your thoughts on it.

They woouldn't have to put anything on - just get us all together and let us go! it would be fun to see if we could tell who other people were without being told their username! if I were fit enough and had the money to travel I really would go in a heartbeat! xxx

I just wish it were easier to accomplish. I, for one, don't have much money to be traveling so unless it was local would have a hard time attending.

Indeed, wouldn't that be wonderful a Mylot convention! That used to happen to another site which was only based in the UK and we met up about four times a year and I had a wonderful time! We had so much fun, shenanigans and got up to all sorts! I miss it I really do as I made some wonderful friends and it was lovely seeing friends, making new ones and seeing what people were like in the flesh! Unfortunately because Mylot is based all over the world a convention would be impossible. There are sooooo many people I would love to meet for real, you know me I am up for anything!

Well except a couple of my friends here i am a little apprehensive of meeting the others in person. You may get into
an entirely different person in reality. You don't know.I have experienced it before many times. Most of the people never turn out to be the image you have in your mind.
But this is strictly one side of my very personal opinion.I may give it a deep thought .

Its not something I think is actually feasible, but interesting to contemplate. Just the diversity of the people would be entertaining in its own right.

Yes it would be nice to meet people you have spoken with, probably not too realistic, but fun to think about.

I know it would be difficult for most people to attend, I just thought it would be fun to consider.

Interesting thought.
There's no reason you couldn't have local gatherings, like state-wide here in the U.S. or something.
I know years ago when I was on AOL and local chatrooms, a bunch of us would get together at local establishments on certain evenings and have a ball.
I've been away from AOL and that particular area for a number of years; I wonder if any of the old party animals still get together?

I never thought about doing it on a local level, but for you and I for example that know each other from more than one site it could be a whole lot of fun.

I wouldn't mind as long as the meeting is during the summer or in very warm state.
Traveling cost may be the barrier for many people, but if not, how about Aruba, St. Lucia or Hawaii....
Maybe Mylot will pay for our trip as yearly bonus...lol

Doesn't Pogo have something like that? I don't even play Pogo games anymore, but we still meet two of my old Pogo buddies in person every year. How about a myLot cruise? Even with the new and improved earnings it would take folks a while to save up for that, eh? But what a concept!
Well, the obvious place to meet would be Monte Carlo! This is the one I mean:
http://www.monte-carlo.mc/
On the other hand, the one in Las Vegas sounds like a grand plan, too. I think people are probably already doing it in small groups, but trust me, organizing even regional get-togethers of this sort would be a LOT of work.

It is a very interesting idea but rather impossible to do. But if assuming that we pretend it can happen, that is really a wonderful thing. Just imaging people from all over the world meet together, people who became friends through the internet... It would make headlines! But so much for the thought its quite impossible simply because of the distance from people, the money and expenses. Nevertheless, its something worth thinking off.

Yes pretty much impossible, but imagine the possibilities if something like that were to happen.

I think that this is a wonderful idea that would probably have to stay a fantasy. That said, perhaps there could be regional meetings. A North America one, Europe, Asia and Australasia? Most of the people that I have regular contact with though are in North America. Perhaps we should all set sail on a yacht and meet in the middle of the Atlantic. You could all come round to my house but you'll have to wait until the West wing is decorated. Now I'm rambling. Of course money would be absolutely no object because myLot would sponsor it as a fabulous marketing medium. So those posters that are worried whether they could afford it or not shouldn't. We'll make a special effort to get everyone there and ensure that all the hard pressed ladies get pampered whilst the men get a feast of whatever (clean) entertainment takes their fancy. Best of all though, how about a gala dinner followed by just a good old natter. Great post, love it.

I think it is a great idea Katherine,How about a cruise, now that would be fun. We could hit all the fun islands and just relax and really get to know all about each other. Maybe have a ball one nite, where we all dress up in our best attire, that represents all the different cultures and then play music from all the different places. Eat, dance and party the nite away. How fun.

A couple of people have suggested multi-cultural events and thats what I think would be so entertaining. I love the idea of meeting people from different countries and different cultures. A ball would be grand.

I agree with you that it is a fun thought though it probably would never be feasible, since most of the friends here just come from all over the world. But if time and financial permit,I'm glad to attend the gathering ,since we can chat with freinds face to face and share the happinest time together. How I wish I could have a magic stick, then such wonderful dream would come true.

Since this is a world wide site what I would do is first break it down into people from the same general areas getting together. Then I would make a theme for each individual area. Something like "Hawaii would be mylot people surfing the waves in Hawaii." There would be food that would be what is in each area. Like Hawaii is known for pig roasts so that would be one of the things I would put on the menu. The pig would be roasted outside in a dug pit. There would be grass skirts for all the women and bright hawaian shirts for all the guys. There would be different music for each of the areas. I think it would be a ball. Great Discussion. Yes, it would be so cool to meet in person some of the people we have met here in mylot. I sure would be attending.

I know that this is not feasable but I liked the idea of thinking of the possibility. It would be fun to meet the people who are here. There are so many different people and coming together would put faces to the people who we talk to here. I love the people here and it sure would be a fun thing to do. I don't come for the money so much as more meeting people who have ideas worth listening to.

I think something like that would be a lot of fun! I absolutely would attend! I think if I was planning something like that, first of all, I'd make it potluck. Since there are so many different people here on mylot, and they come from so many different cultures, everyone should bring a dish that is representative of the culture they come from! I'd rent a large dinning hall or reserve a nice park for the dinner part of the evening to take place in. Then perhaps we could all participate in some games. Everyone who attends from a certain area could each elect one person to represent them, that person choses a game which is representative of their community or culture and we all participate in the game. Of course after all this there would have to be time for just open conversation and mingling! Oh what fun it would be if something like that was actually possible! What a fun way it would be to meet and learn about everyone!

I love the idea! And what a great discussion you started. I see some members even posted some great suggestions. The local gatherings would be nice. But an annual world-wide, international, all-inclusive gala would be a marvelous event that we would talk about for the rest of our lives. Not to mention the strong bond we would all create amongst each other.
First let's have the first annual gala in an exotic locale like the Bahamas. I'd say the Atlantis Resort and Casino would be a good gathering point. (I also like an idea some other member posted about having it in Monte Carlo, but since I live in No. America, my vote for the first event is the Bahamas).
Then the following year could be in Europe, then Asia, then Australia and so on and so forth. Just move it all around the globe every year so everyone has a chance to attend.
We can put up a competition to determine the host city for the following year. Kind of like the Olympics.
Wow, this is going to cost a lot of money. We better start typing away and posting to pay for all these expenses.
Well, that was a nice ride through Fantasy Island. But thanks for the ride, albeit in everyone's dreams.

That sounds very interesting but being that everyone is spread out everywhere, it would probably be a difficult thing to do. However, being new here to the site, I still wouldn't mind meeting the friends I have made.
