i totally agree with you. All friends are same. According to me, we think one as our best friend if he/she performs according to our wish. However, the other day, we start fighting with him/her because he/she doesn't agree with us.Best friend becomes like a share market whose market value fluctuates.
Friend should be the one to whom we can share our feelings everytime, and categorising friends as best friends surely feels as if we are insulting them.

I agree with you schummi. It's up to people if they categorize (a) friend(s) as (a) bestfriend(s). I don't have a bestfriend too because I want my friends to be equal. We have a group of 7 and it's easy to be fair to everyone. Of course, when you have a bestfriend, there is always a special treatment. I categorize my friends as 'close friends' and not as 'best friends'.

Nothing is wrong with having a bestfriend and other friends. We all have one or two friends that you have the most chemistry with. Just like having a partner. Why do we have partners instead of a bunch of friends? It is natural to have closer attachments to different people. Not everyone is the same or had the same experiences with you, or shared the same adventures or talks. Hopes or dreams. Labeling someone a bestfriend is just away of saying hey this person understands me the best. Doesn't mean you like anyone less or devalue all your other friendships. Just a thought but you are more than entitled to your opinion that is what makes you....You!
