problem with windows xp

hey guys i have a problem with my windows xp and i don know how to solve it.. I am double clicking on my c,d,e,f drives they are not getting opened and i don know what happened.. if i right click and open its opening ... and if i am opening a folder its getting displayed in another window.. for each folder i open im getting seperate new window pls help me solve my problem.. pls dont tell formatting c drive is the only solution..
