i aim to reach this month's payout but as an old member of this site i know for long that i can never reach it if i just post and post useless and repeated topics. we all know that don't we?
mylot made it clear that in order for us to earn more we need to post sensible discussions.
i will not deny the fact that when i was a newbie here i tend to make one liner discussions too just like others and wonder why my earnings never goes higher. its just
this late that i realize my low earning has something to do with the quality of the discussions i made.
then i started thinking of better ideas to post. i make my new discussions well written, conversant and sensible to other to read. after doing that i notice my earnings go higher which help me reach my desired amount to get into the month's payout.
a tip for the newbies and as well as to other MyLot members who are not yet aware. if you want to get a good earning here better post good and long discussions too. if you have a single idea, play with words and elaborate it to make it longer. don't do a hi, hello, good day post since it wont earn you ample amount, you will just waste your effort.
also respond to previous discussions posted by your friends in a sensible manner. don't respond for the sake of posting. read the discussions and think of better point to start your response.
good luck guys. :)
happy posting.

Im glad you posted these tips because I will use them to increase my earnings as well. But I have to say that some people who read this wont listen because they want to make a quick buck! And they are on mylot for the wrong reasons.

I definitely agree with you... i also had my share of posting oneliners and that did not get me anywhere in terms or earnings ang getting sensible responses... so i realized that in order for me to earn more and acquire a good reputation in this site... i need to post sensible, well though off, and relevant discussions...
But then, i don't put everything i want to say or write since i want to leave more room for the comment i will make to all those who will respond...

Those are great tips and I'd like to "second" them. I'd like to put extra emphasis on where you said "READ THE DISCUSSIONS" because I've come across so many responses to posts where there was no connection between the reply and the original post. It was quite obvious the poster read just the subject and maybe the first line or so before they posted and they weren't even close to being on-topic. That irritates me to no end to think they're getting points and money from these posts!

Very good point.
I tend to be very long and 'wordy' because its my nature. I'm a big mouth!
The earnings are coming along nicely for me with no conscious effort on my part. I'm a natural here, LOL ...

Oh yes, I've finally found my niche, LOL.
I always wondered how I was going to work 'loud mouthed and opinionated' onto a resume!

This is not just good advice, I think it makes MyLot a much more interesting experience when a discussion begins with a well thought out argument or question.
If you start a discussion with just one line asking what others think, it does not inspire much of a response.

Well I think that I can appreciate what you have said.I was in the habit of being curt in my responses. And I have understood that you have to elaborate your responses here for a good earning.Your advice is supporting the theory.Thank you very much.I think that I have elaborated to the maximum satisfied level to see the improvement.lol

A good tip I have found recently is that we get one extra credit point for the first reply to any discussion we start and an extra point if we respond to a response on our discussion too. So technically you can get two credit points for each discussion you comment upon

Are you saying that if I post a topic then respond to it, I get a point ? Then respond again to the same topic and get another point? Or is the first point earned from the first response from someone else? Sorry to sound so dense! I'm new and just learning how things work around here :-)

Thank you for offering these tips, which I find very sensible and pragmatic. I do subscribe to the things suggested here and put them in practice. I believe myLot puts a lot of premium on the quality of discussions. The more thought provoking ones and those that promote lively and interesting discussion will likely command greater attention and rewards when equating to earnings potential. Not everyone can write well, so there will be some who will try to chalk up the numbers responding to the easy topics in the hope of earning more by merely answering more posts. As for me, I try and focus more on quality, and am happy with what I earn given the time I am able to spend here.

I agree with you djmarion! I also use these tips you have given to earn more. It's really quite difficult to think of new topics lately. I have never posted one liner discussions since I started. I always make sure that I post something that others would enjoy reading.

thanks for the advices djmarion. I was already aware of these points but still I am not able to increase my earnings fast :) Well, In fact when I stay active and post some discussions I earn what I need but it doesn't happen everyday.
By the way, do you know how responding effects our earnings? If we give good responses then would our earnings go up just like we have started a discussion?

To date, I have made a whole $1.80. Some of you guys seem to live out here. I just don't have that kind of time. I have started many posts (meaningful and interesting) and have responded to posts, but I still don't seem to make much money. I don't care, I'm not broke nor do I need the money, I enjoy discussing things, that's it mostly. I guess if I wanted to spend 12 hours a day on here, I could make some money, but I don't consider this my career lol.

Though I agree with you in some respects, djmarion, I disagree on others. I don't think a discussion has to be overly long to be meaningful. Sometimes a discussion does require that you have to go into a lot of detail, but not all the time. I just follow my heart when I post a discussion, try to include all the relevant parts, without making it so long and drawn out that it will start to bore the reader.

I am really new here - just getting things set up.:-) Your tip on writing good, long, interesting articles is something I will remember as I start to get busy here! I'm more of a reader than a writer. I once wanted to be an author, but discovered I loved reading better. LOL! Anyway, I will be reading and learning here on MyLot and probably make some mistakes in my postings. But I also love learning and know that over time as I apply the lessons learned that I will improve. Thanks again for sharing your tips with us.

Thanks for the tip! And more importantly, thank you for telling me it is ok to write a lot! I tend to go on and on and on but got a bit self-conscious when I saw how short some of the posts were....
But now I have a perfect excuse for talking alot!
