I had an unusual experience when I got married.

Most women when they marry have a female maid or matron of honor. That is the tradition. I didn't have that. My oldest friend is a man. I have known him since I was in the 6th grade. He for all intents and purposes is my brother. I introduced him to and he got married to my other close friend. This is who stood up for me. I had a male matron of honor. Does anyone else have any different or unusual wedding stories.

Good for you! When my niece got married, she asked my (now ex) husband to give her away, but her mother (my sister) walked on the other side of her. This way she had the traditional man giving her away, but her mother too. It was very nice, and didn't seem odd at all.

Did he at least get to wear a dress? hehehe All kidding aside I think it is pretty cool that he was your Marton of Honor. It makes sense since he is your best friend.

Tradition is overrated. Do what your heart tells you so long as your heart isn't selfish and vain. :)
