Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva suffered a horrific broken leg in opening minutes of the Premier League clash with Birmingham.
The Croatia international was challenged by Birmingham's Martin Taylor in the third minute of the game at St.Andrews with the centre-backs being shown an immediate red card ba referee Mike Dean.
Eduardo's clearly distressed team-mates immediately signelled to the sidelines that urgent attention was required and the game was held up for seven minutes as he received treatment on the field.
The injury was deemed to be so serious that replays of the incident were not shown on television.
He moved to Emirates Stadium from Dinamo Zagreb last summer and had scored 12 goals in his first 30 appearances for Arsene Wenger's side.
here are some pictures (WARNING - it's pretty nasty):

Seen some of the TV clips on an arabic channel. Looks like a bad tackle, but I can't say that there is any deliberate intent to hurt Eduardo.

Don't even think its the worst tackle in the Premier League - Ben Thatcher on Pedro Mendes springs to mind

I've only seen the pictures but it is a horrific injury, it did remind me of Larsson's injury, the only difference was Larsson's wasn't due to a tackle, that is what makes this one worse imo and Martin Taylor should be banned for life as this is not acceptable.
