Your choice: Travel OR Sleep in your own bed!

Of course, no one has to make the absolute choice, at least in most cases. But if you can choose, would you rather take an exotic vacation and sleep in planes, trains, cars, and motels, maybe campers and tents-- or... would you choose to stay home and be as cozy as a kitten in a cushioned basket by the fireplace all the time in your own bed?
I love my own bed, my own sheets, my own pillows. Even the smell of my own laundry detergent is comforting to me. For sure, some people not sleeping in their own beds have trouble with soap or product allergies which I don't have.
At the same time I have to say I love to travel, but I often don't sleep as well when I am away from home. For sure, during trips we often have such a busy schedule and full days that it's easy to fall into a heavy sleep no matter where you lie down.
What do you prefer?

I love to sleep in my own bed. Nothing compared to my fancy matters and my comfy bed. When away from home, usually I can not seep well.
I hate hotel places and bedding always smell funny and it is not pleasant to touch....
I rather sleep in tents than in hotel rooms....unless it is fancy place, usually hard to afford when travel alone...

I only really slept in a tent on the ground once when I was in college. As a girl scout we had huge tents that slept about a dozen girls like sardines in sleeping bags on wooden platforms with "waterproof" canvas for a roof. I never got home dry. LOL. As for trailers or campers, and being from a somewhat rural area, I always laugh at the city folk who come to camping areas where the campers are lined up in rows even more crowded close together than the houses in the city. How relaxing can that be?

Oh this is a tough one! I love to travel and I am lucky that I am able to travel often. But I am such a homebody too, I love my comforts of home.
I think the best part of any holiday is arriving home. I agree there is nothing nicer than your own linen on your own bed, and your own bathroom. I think the holiday away just confirms that.

Right now I would love a hotel stay by myself where I could sleep uninterrupted. But for comfort I prefer my own bed! Like you I find my own flannel sheets and my laundry smell the best!

It is not a bad thing to want to sleep by your self away from everything and everyone. There are sure times when I feel that way too. I hate being awakened by the phone or by people coming to the house (which makes the dog bark). If I wake up too fast, I am super grouchy.

I prefer the excitement on traveling than sleeping in my own bed. I like to sleep on a plane and wake up far away. I love to sleep in a comfortable train compartment feeling the gentle motion of the engine rock me to sleep. I stayed in a tree house fro a couple of nights in Belize. I spent a few nights in a thatched beach hut in Mexico. When I was in Kenya I stayed in a safari style tent. I have spent many nights in my own tent as well. In Jordan I spent a couple of nights sleeping on a flat roof. In Samoa I slept in a traditional fale, a thatched building feeling a gentle sea breeze and hearing the waves softly crashing at the shore.

The last time I traveled on a plane I was coming home from a five day vacation that was packed with activity. I fell asleep when we took off and didn't wake up until we began to descend three hours later, and I was sleeping so I wasn't chewing my gum. Painful way to wake up!

Yes, waking up when almost landing must have been awful. I wear ear planes, plastic screw like things in my ears to avoid the pressure that affects my ears. They are uncomfortable after eight hours though. On to way to Fiji I had three plane seats to lay down on and that was blissful. Happy traveling.

I have a really nice bed, lots of pillows to squish around and prop up on, and several different down comforters of varying thicknesses depending on how warm or cold it might be ...
... but ...
I can sleep just about anywhere ... and have!
Given a choice I would rather be on a journey exploring than home snug in my comfy bed.

I feel the same, if my bed can talk i'll marry it. I love being on top of my bed especially if there's no class.
But at the same time, I love traveling. I wanted to see the rest of the world on my own eyes. I wanted to travel outside my country. It doesn't really matter if it'll take me sometime to get somewhere, I just love to go around the world. Sleeping in a bus or planes is okay with me, no problem. As long as I have the budget -- I'm good to go.

My sister always carries her own pillow, ever since she was very young. At times I do too, especially if I think I will be sleeping in the car, which doesn't happen much now and won't until my kids get their licenses. One is only a few days away! ZZZZZZZZ

I prefer the comfort of my own bed. I remember the last time I went and visited one of my family members up in her cabin in the mountains when I was a teenager. As pretty as it was up there I just wasn't comfortable staying the night, especially with having cramps due to being on my period. I wanted nothing more than to go home to my own bed and go to sleep. However my family wanted my mom and I to stay. But my mom understood and we went home. Just knowing we were going home helped me relax even though it was a 3 hour drive! Cramps or no cramps I would rather be home than travel places. I guess I'm just a homebody! :)

You know i like travelling when i needed to like going to school, work, to my friends house just like that. But when i don't any activities i prefer to stay at home and yes i sleep. I really love to sleep, when I am awake I am eating and when I am not eating I maybe sleeping that's the two basic routine i have and my favorite too. That is why i find it difficult to stay on others house because at time of rest it is very uncomfortable to me because i can't sleep. It is very hard for me if I am on someones home. I prefer my own bed to sleep with. I love my bed and i love my home.

I'm afraid that this is one of those no-brainers for me. Traveling beats anything hands-down. Maybe the fact that I can sleep perfectly fine on a bed of nails while being bitten by giant mosquitoes with the noise of a thunderstorm on the background makes it easier, but still. For me, comfrot will never be an issue not to travel. But it takes all kinds, I guess....

this is tough for me...i used to love to travel and still love the idea of experiencing other cultures and the way people live in other cities...but now as soon as I get somewhere all i can think about is getting back to my comforts of home....I love to be home.

I didn't have to think many seconds about my answer - I definately prefer to travel! My own bed is nice and comfy, but nothing beats the interesting exeperiences that I get when I travel. I don't find it hard to sleep in other beds than my own and if the bed is less compy than my own bed at home it doesn't bother we at all, I just take it as an experience. When I travel I experience new things all the time and when I go to bed at night I think about the things that I am going to see or do the next day and that makes very happy. I am happy before I fall asleep and I am happy when I wake up the next morning and get ready for a new an exciting day at my destination
