It is the catch phrase from Forrest Gump.I think it means that life is full of surprises.

This sentence is really meaningful.In my limited opinion,I guess it just indicates that we should
take active and positive attitudes towards life.
And if we want to do sth,then no matter what obstacles we will encountered,we should have a try,do not give it up easily.I also appreciate another good saying"Tomorrow is another day",which came from the book"Gone with the wind."

the quote can also mean that life is sweet. any choice that we make has the potential of making it beautiful. no choice is in itself a bad one. it depends on our taste and preference. whatever we choose, the decision will take us somewhere. we just have to hold on to our belief that it will be good.

Hi, I believe it's a quote from the 1994 film, "Forrest Gump". My understanding is that if you have a box of varied unlabeled chocolates, when you're choosing them, you don't know if you'll be getting a strawberry one, a toffee one, your favorite one, or your least favorite - just like in life, you don't know what lies ahead of you, so as Forrest said, you just "never know what you're gonna get".

Yes, that's right. It was Murakami who first said "life is a box of chocolates" in the mentioned book.
Checking it is as easy as flipping the book.

As the first responder said this is from the movie "Forrest Gump". I take this to mean that you never know what life will throw at you and whether you will like it or not. Life can be a joy or a sorrow and it can be good or bad. Anyone who has ever eaten a box of chocolates knows that they are the same way. I hate to bite into one of those orange covered chocolate drops in a box as I hate orange.However, I love the coconut ones and so I am happy when I have one of those.
