Do you do your big time/whole house cleaning in one big day event or a weeks event? Or are you a person who cleans every day or every minute of the day? We have Spring cleaning here meaning that we do this huge cleaning for two days out of the year and my goodness it is a drag...I tried to do cleaning every day but with my busy schedule it is hard. As for hiring someone to come help me no way I don't know who I can trust to do my cleaning for I am real picky as to where which item would have to go and stuff....What about you what do you do?

I do a big spring cleaning...but stretch it out sometimes over a week as I wash all my collectables, shampoo carpets and wash walls. I live by myself so the house stays pretty picked up most of the time and I just lightly dust and vacumn about once a week and in the spring and fall get it all done. I also usually paint a room but this year I am going to paint the dining room and also redo my bedroom...freshen things up!

Ooooh, you rotten soul, you! Are you my conscience speaking, I have been trying to ignore you for days.....the weather has been too beautiful...my gardens need spring cleaning, too.....can't you wait to next fall?
You can see you touched a sore spot! Yes, I have to do a major spring cleaning, for several reasons. Number one, my heat is wood heat! My house is large. I work full time, and I am older than you spring chickens. Winter means coming home from a "job site" in the dark, getting your firewood in for the nite, feeding the animals, doing chores & collapsing. Things get backed up!Many weeks, I work 7 days. So, with spring comes longer daylight hours, and renewed energy! So I have a wonderfully clean house all summer. I am not traipsing thru the house with armloads of wood, etc. So, you've kicked my butt, I'll get on with it!

however this year, next month actually my sister and her two kids, including my newborn nephew, are flying out for a visit! havent seen them in a number of years now, and finally getting to meet the little one!
so..we are extra spring cleaning lol! ive been doing a section of the house every couple of days. only 2 more rooms to go!..course by the time they are scheduled to get here i will have to do some touchups of course! but it will be clean and baby safe!

I like to clean my house a bit every day and I like to clutter clear it as often as is this needs to be done. I think it wouldn't be possible for me to do a whole house clean in just one day. Before I clean I like to get things taken back to where they belong. Like I put disks back it their case and return them to my media draw. I have a problem with taking too many photos and getting lots of paperwork all the time. I have tried to make all of this month, February, a time for deep cleaning like inside all cupboards and to do so more clutter clearing. I put much paperwork for recycling and filed the rest. I read a book called How Clean is Your House and the author told a ways of cleaning using vinegar and baking soda. I cleaned my lounge windows with the vinegar method and they look so clean that I am delighted.

I used to clean every day, lately it seems I just dont have the time to do that and my house looks like a wreck. When I did it every day you could literally "eat off the floors" Now I clean on the weekends and hate that on my days off work, I work at home, cleaning. I'm lucky if I get any spring cleaning done....usually I finish that up in the fall.....ugh!!
Anyways, the system I used to keep everything clean and looking great, I had found on www.flylady.org. there is a system there and as long as you keep at it, things work out great. I just haven't been able to follow it since I've been working 10-12 hour days at work and then try to spend time with my kids.
but it does work and for alot of people it works great!'
Have fun with the spring cleaning!

i do spring cleaning over about a week every 6 months or so.i find it is too much just to do it in a day.i have a hugh house and it is a chore just to keep it clean weekly.this way i can go through some cupboards and have a reel good cleanout, then i usually have a garage sale.cheers sue
