I am looking for grants to improve the shelter with new kennels. I would also like to find some companies that are willing to donate, materials, dog/cat food, food and water containers, cleaning supplies, blankets, anything to help shelter the animals for the cold winter wind. Please help these poor little animals. WE ALL NEED A WARM PLACE TO SLEEP.

Here are a couple of suggestions, I hope they are useful to you (and if you have done them already, then just smile and skip on):
1. Contact Best Friends, located in Utah. Their web address is www.bestfriends.org they often hold conferences and provide materials to help no kill shelters.
2. Contact PetSmart corporate headquarters, and any pet food company you can find and solicit their support. Often they will donate food and such.
3. If you have any local celebrities or if you know any that were born or grew up in your area, contact them for help.
4. Work with the local school district to add your shelter to the list of "great projects" to help kids learn about community involvement and suggest that they volunteer to help with the shelter (check with your insurance company first for liability issues) and/or do fundraising for your shelter, like bake sales, car washes, and white elephant rummage sales.
5. Make sure you have a website and a paypal account for your shelter so people can make donations through the website.
Hope that helps. I will be interested in hearing how it works out for you. Regards, and good luck, Moonstone22

Thank you so much for your suggestions, I will do as you recommended at solicate the pet companies as for celebrites, I don't know of any we are such a small town. I have tried the school district, but they say it is a liability for the kids to get involved with the animals, but they do donate some food. Thanks again.
