Your preference: Music of today or yesterday?

This is in the Philippine setting.
I am an oldies fan. I think there is more emotions and good intentions with the music of yesterday. Even the singers then are so different from the singers now.
Lately, singers aim to reach the high notes, without noticing that the message of the song has either been altered or is not understandable.
What about you?

I agree, music nowadays only consists of high pitched syncopated chords with a strange drum beat and wierd vocals

I'm in the US and I particularly enjoy listening to country music of today but sometimes I will listen to oldies for a change.
