I just had this thought. What if your G-d was exactly the way You want Him/Her to be.Example. Christ could appear differently to two different Christians. He is the sane being but He appears exactly the way they need Him to be.Wouldn't that mean that all religions are true and the right path?I believe that all religions are true and good paths for someone. Not all religions are for everybody. You should pick the religion that enriches your life and be faithful.
And as for atheists, they are okay too. An atheist is just a person who doesn't need to follow Any of the paths.

Hi sarahruthbeth, I like your post very much and have to say that I agree with you. Religion is a great comfort to many people, but there are those who don't seem to need it. That is fine too because it is just another path. Christ does appear different to different Christians, that's why there are hundreds of different denominations within Christianity. I expect it is the same with all religions. Lots to think about here. Blessings.

I agree 100% with you. In fact this is one of the principles in my religion(I am a Hindu). God appears to an individual exactly how he wants Him to be. I think it makes sense. If God is all powerful, He can take any form he chooses and I believe He takes on the form which the devotee loves to see Him as. In fact many of the stories in our epics actually state that God took another form to show Himself to a devotee who preferred another form. If humanity can accept this fact, I don't think there will be any more wars with religion as the cause in this planet. We just need more maturity and a sense of justice if we are to accept this fact. Great discussion.

Wow. I didn't know that. Now it make sense why Hindus have so many G-ds.I am Jewish and we can't see our G-d in His purest form.

According to me, the religious G-d was purely man-made. In other words, the religious G-d was created specifically by man to control others by mean of creating fear in a 'higher power' that will reward you with heaven if you are good and throw you in 'hell' if you are bad. It is a G-d of human infancy. I guess humanity is growing up now and beginning to consider better versions of a benign higher power. Personally, I have no religion, but I do believe in a higher power responsible for life forces.

Yeah, You are right. I agree 100%. But "mirror" doesn't exactly represent Him. The way He teaches us about life is like the way a man train a parrot to talk. The man doesn't present before the parrot and talk to it, ask it to talk in the same way. Rather, he will take a mirror, put the mirror before the parrot. He will stand behind the mirror and start to talk to the parrot. The parrot will think, "Oh, my friend talk to me," and it will start to talk. So, if you get a parrot, train it using the method. Believe me,it works ;-)

Most definately....sadly there are far too many ppl in the world who are far too narrowminded to realize what you just said is the way it is....I dont believe in Christianity OR the CHRISTIAN God..BUT that doesnt mean the "higher power" I personally believe in is any less valid or is wrong etc...It just so happens that Bondye is what is most logical for me and works best in my life..Does that make me any less loving, honest, true, spiritual etc etc etc? Absolutely NOT..Kudos to you Sarah...too bad more ppl dont get it ;-)

Yes....and anyone who has a belief and it's their belief is not right or wrong. What ever guides your life in a positive manner or offers you comfort and enriches your life is the religion for you. It would be wonderful if G*d did appear the way you want or need him!
