Referral exchanging sucks

February 24, 2008 1:03pm CST
I've been exchanging referrals with exactly 4 persons, and only 2 can be considered good. Well who should I to blame? So I'm thinking of ways to tackle this. I'm thinking of maybe making something like a Hall of Shame to warn others of fakers and those who just signed up then become basically inactive. I don't know if this will work for me, but it should help some others. After all, fakers are able to lie about their fakings, making excuses and everything. I know and believe that referral exchanging is not something that can continuously build my referrals size. But for now, I can do a lot of this since I'm new, so that's why I am doing it. Fair. But there will come a time when either I don't have nothing good to get referred to, or I just prefer not to get referred to because I've got too much already. So I'll have to find referrals in other ways. How do you get your referrals? By faking referral exchanges?

I've had somewhat decent success, it really all depends on the people you are exchanging with. Not everyone is as helpful or fair as I'd like but the way I look at it I'd probably be signing up for these programs anyway eventually. Might as well try to gain some advantage.

Yeah it all depends on the people, but how do I know who not to exchange referrals with? And so comes this idea of: the Hall of Shame. I don't get your gaining some advantage idea. It's not that faking method, is it? Sorrry

If you are still looking to get referrals for your sites, I suggest you take a look at this discussion: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1469463.aspx Basically, this site is an auction-style referral exchange, where you can promote any opportunity on the planet earth for free. If you are interested, send me a friend request, then a message. I will reply with the link.

It's not always like that. I now think that it's not that bad. Especially after hearing about goodnightmoon story. It's a good way of getting referrals, but I guess not the best way..

I have tried to exchange referrals with people and have been told "here is my site, take a look and join any of the programs you like...I have bookmarked your page and might join some of the programs" I just ignore this unless they contact me again or join one of my sites. Exchanging referrals in programs like traffic exchanges is slightly safer. If the other person joins and surfs zero sites, you can quit their site and be sure to ignore them in future. I am honest, but losing faith in the process of "exchanging referrals" to be honest.
