We all enjoy milkshakes and smoothies and all kinds of fruity drinks.
Me and my daughter often have smoothies for lunch during summer, but a few months ago my blender just decided it was time to retire and stopped working.
We haven't had a chance to get another one yet and I was very pleasantly surprised today when hubby came home with a gift for us: a nice new blender.
I love it ! It comes with two different jars, one is glass, the other one is metal and perfect for frozen drinks.
We all had a banana/orange/kiwi/strawberry smoothie while watching rendition - a movie we wanted to watch - :):):)
Do you like smoothies? milkshakes? How do you make them?
I know that a lot of people use ice cream to make their milkshakes thicker, but I never use it, I just put plenty of ice and it works just as well as the ice cream:)

MacDonal's shakes are a bit too thick for me, but they are tasty I will give you that :)
But they use ice cream and I tend to avoid the ice cream part on the ones I make.
The other thing I do is that if I make more than what we all will drink I put it in a container and freeze it. When we want more it's just a matter of putting it back in the blender. Actually my daughter likes to eat them like that - like an ice cream :):)

Hello there, you are very lucky to have a thoughtful hubby who knows what you need. I believe it is a very nice gift and becomes handy for you. Honestly, I love milkshakes and smoothies. But I am so lazy that I never bother to make some myself or for anyone…Anyway, enjoy yourself and congratulation on having a new blender.

I am the smoothie maker in the house, but I don't really drink them. My husband likes to drink protein drinks while he is working out so I make them for him. My mom got him a smoothie maker for Christmas. He asked for it, but I know that I will probably be the one to make them for him. He just has no clue as to what tastes good! When he makes his own he doesn't like them. I don't mind making them for him though.
I use plain yogurt, fruit, protein powder, a little honey, some ice, ground flaxseed and some milk. If I am using liquid protein instaed of powder, I don't put in the milk.

I LOVE milkshakes and smoothies. Me and my mom have them all the time except we have it before bed for some reason. Our blender blew up on us also, but I got her a new one for Christmas! She was excited about that. I baught her the one on television that they make seem so good, but its really not. haha. We make it with like 5 scoops of ice cream, a cup of milk, and a banana. You should try it, its DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!! I have never tried it with ice, but I will ask my mom to attempt and try something new with me. Although she may be scared because of what happenned to our last blender but maybe we can overcome that fear and just try it out. Have fun and good luck!

Before bed sounds good to me too, and after bed, and in the middle of the day LOL I love them :)
My son used to prefer them with ice cream and I used to make it like that, but then I discovered that it wasn't really the ice cream he wanted, just that he liked his milkshake really thick. That's when I started using the ice cubes, it makes it thick as well.
And since this new one comes with the two cups, and one is the metal one that's the one I use.
TOday when we got home = from school and work - we all had a strawberry milkshke, it felt great :)

I don't put ice cream in mine either. My favorite shake is half a sweet potato with a little agave syrup and milk, ideally half of the milk having been frozen into ice cubes, but otherwise I just put a few regular ice cubes in before blending. We've tried many different blenders and our favorite is the As-Seen-on-TV Magic Bullet, which I consider worth its weight in platinum. I was disappointed in the portable which we tried, and the juicer attachment is in my view worthless, but the standard Magic Bullet is just awesome and I use it several times every day, sometimes more. Before that one I bought a Tribest which is very good, too, but the Bullet accessories are much cheaper. We still have the Tribest and I use it only for "grinding" such making a handful of flour out of whole grains or oatmeal, or milling flax seeds.
Congrats on getting a new blender and eating healthy! The metal and glass jars sound great.

Sweet potato sounds great I love sweet potatoes, but I never thought about using it in a shake. Maybe I should :)
The magic bullet adds really show a product that sounds very good, and I'm glad to hear that they actually deliver what they promise.
I had one almost like it form another brand and liked it a lot. But husband let it fall down one too many times and it was gone LOL
I love the two jars on our new one. The metal one is just great for the drinks - and excellent for whipped cream, we made some and it came out perfect.
