networking sites

Ok, I am new to this. But the more of these "networking Sites" I've checked out, the more disappointed I am.
You cannot really make any meaningful contacts; all discussions are filled with spam; people write blogs, create profiles, business centers,etc., and no one visits them - just total desperation and scams and spam on this web 2.0
How sad...

I understand what you mean , but what sites are you talking about? Can you give some links?
Really its not easy to get people to talk , its really hard unless you offer something like cash. I know from experience.
What do you suggest those sites do?
I'm open to ideas , i try to get people to talk about real sites , but like i said it doesn't work that way.
