I was wondering how many people believe in abortion! So do you belive in Pro life or womens rights! I think that abortions should be banned and should be illegal!I seen on the tv that women use aborations as a form of birth control and i just thought that was a very wrong thing to do! one women had 6 abortions in a 3 year time frame that is just sickning!I would never take a life of another human being especialy my own child thats what abortion are, killing another person even though that they say it's not a person yet it is it's life inside you a gift form God why would you go and kill somthing that is so sweet like a child! i Have a little girl and when i found out i was pregnant i was 16 and abortion never cross my mine once!If your old enough to lay down and do it your old enough to deal with outcome!Thats what i always say!And hey also do partial birt abortions in some states and they sa that the baby goes through alot of before it's brains are sucked out sorry nottrying to be graphic but that s what happends and in needs to stop!I belive in Pro life life is the way to go! Dont get an abortion if your not able to tkae care of the child adobt there are plenty of couples that can't have children so what does everyone else think should abortions ( or should i say murder)be legal!

Using abortion as birth control is wrong and dangerous, however that does not mean that abortion is wrong. There are plenty of valid reasons to abort a fetus, ranging from rape to not being able to provide a proper life for the child. Just because you would never get an abortion, and good on you by the way, doesn't mean you have the right to force your views on others.

I am a supporter of Pro Choice AND have had to have an abortion a few yrs back..HOWEVER just because I'm Pro Choice DOES NOT mean I'm Pro Abortion....It jsut so happens that sometimes its necessary....but when ppl use it as a lazy womans birth control I have ZERO tolerance for that..

Abortions are & should remain legal. A woman's right to choose when to be a parent is the cornerstone of all other freedoms. And an early pregnancy is no more a child than a seed is a plant, it's a potential life NOT a life.
Simply being fertile is in no way an indicator of the ability to parent. Being a parent is an amazing experience, unlike any other but it is also a difficult and challenging experience. No one should be forced into parenting simply against their will.
Also, "partial birth" abortions are not legal in the US anymore. Even when they were legal they were a VERY rare procedure.

i do agree with you to a certain point ! But i dont think it's (just potenial life )it's moving kicking, growing inside of a women so therefore it is life no potential to it it's human being inside another !I believe everything happends for a reason yas it's true no one should forced into being a parent ,well m opion on this is if you did'nt want a baby dont lay down and spread your legs i do understand some women get raped and dont have a choice in a rape case it should be up to the women but the women should remeber this that either way she got pregnant weather she got raped or did it willingly i think it still is a gift from God and it is her choice weather she wants that gift or not but thats between that weomen and God ! And me personaly if i where raped i still could'nt get an abortion cause it's not that childs fault it deserves life to!

" if you did'nt want a baby dont lay down and spread your legs"
EXCUSE ME?! NOT ALL abortions are done because of either rape OR "oops"..there are NUMEROUS reasons...I was MORE THAN HAPPY to "lay down and spread my legs" and we WANTED that baby..unfortunately life can have drastic unexpected traumatic changes....when that happens sometimes abortions are necessary which was the case with us...

WELL EXCUSE ME CAUSE I WAS'NT SAYING ALL ABORTIONS HAPPEND CAUSE RAPE OR OOPS!YEAH I UNDERSTAND THAT WOMEN GET THEM FOR OTHER REASONS TO BUT NOT BY JUDGEING ANYONE OR ANYTHING THAT STILL DONT MAKE IT RIGHT! MY AUNT GOT PREGNANT AND THE DOCOTORS TOLD HER SHE NEEDED AN ABORTION CAUSE THE BABY WAS GOING TO DIE ANYWAY AND SHE SAID NO WAY AND NOW I HAVE 18 YEAR OLD COUSIN (WHICH THE DOCTORS SAY WASNT SUPPOSE TO LIVE PAST 1 YEAR OLD) HE CANT WALK,AND TALK BUT SHE LOVES HIM JUST AS MUCH AS HER NORMAL CHILDREN THAT IS HEALTLY IT TAKES A REAL WOMEN TO DO WHAT MY AUNT DID AND ALL I HAVE TO SAY THERE MUST NOT BE TO MANY REAL PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD ESP.THE GOVERMENT THAT allows it to go on!BUT NOT TRYING TO JUDGE NO ONE LIKE I SAID BEFORE IF PEOPLE CANT HANDLE MY OPINION THAN DONT READ IT!

I know this is a really touch subject and I am all for womens rights up to a point.use of abortion as a means of birth control is indeed wrong. I feel as you do, if you are old enough to do the deed, then you need to pay for it. there are zillions of people waiting to adopt so let go the child if you do not or cannot afford it andlet someoneelse love and care for it The only time that abortion might be right is if a woman is in real danger of losing her life or in the case of mentally ill person who has been raped but even there I think there are medical pills option rather than abortion. After abortion is just a polically correct way of saying murdering a baby.

"if you are old enough to do the deed, then you need to pay for it. "
I'm sorry but it goes SO MUCH DEEPER than that...I have been "old enough" for many yrs...My 6th preg was with my now husband and like I've said we WANTED that baby HOWEVER when our son passed away suddenly after 8 mths of struggle (he was preemie) life took a very VERY dramatic and traumatic turn for the worst not just for me but for my husbnad and two other children....Bottomline I had to think about us FIRST....our wellbeing and mental state etc TRUMPED the unborn...It was a hard decision to make without a doubt BUT it was necessary on many levels...so your "if you're old enough" theory really doesnt apply at all...and I would imagine in many cases it wouldnt..

I do not take abortion lightly but on the other hand I myself had an abortion a little over a year ago. Because something was wrong and I became very ill not like your normal morning sickness this was bad I could not keep anything down for just a little over 2 and a half months not even water and it was an everday all day bases I had lost so much weight it was not funny and I could not move. I didn't know what else to do. Not two months later I was pregnant again but this time I was not as ill and we decided to keep it now I have a beautiful 2 month old girl. Everything happens for a reason and I believe my Savannah was my reason for my first abortion. By the way love your name my 2 yr old is also name Mercedes

I'll put it in this simple words. If I was pregnant I wouldn't have an abortion, for me I'm against it. If my friend is pregnant & wants an abortion that is her choice. Everyone should be able to have their own choice regardless if society approves it or not.

After having read all the comments and rethinking my own you make the most sense of all. We all make mistakes and we all have to make our own choices and no one here should judge the others for the choices that they made because we do not know how we would handle thier situation were we to be in their situation. Its so easy to say what you would do but unless you had been in the same situation how would you know what you really would do. So judge not lest you be judged as my mom used to say. I would never have had an abortion but I will not judge friends who have had them as I do not know why they did that.

Abortion has been going on since man (and woman!) has been around. Seriously. Medicine woman used to give tonics to induce abortion, doctors of old times had methods of inducing abortion. It has always been around, and will always be around. I understand your point of view and I respect it. However, have some respect for the people that are pro-choice, as well. Just because someone is "pro-choice" does not mean that they are "pro-abortion." It means that they leave it up to the individual to make the choice for themselves.

Abortion is legal where I live, and I'm glad it's like that. I'm glad that you don't make the decisions about such things, because apparently you can't see any other point of view.

I am totally against abortions and no I don't believe it should be legal.
However there is only one scenerio in which I can understand abortion, and that would be if a young girl got brutally raped, and got pregnant from it.
The rape itself is trauma enough, and that she would have to live the rest of her life with. I couldn't see bringing a child into the world from it. Yes, I know, she could give it away. But she shouldn't have to go through the 9 months of it. Sorry, this is just my opinion!

When I was a teenager I considered myself pro choice. I knew I would never be able to have an abortion regardless of reason but I felt it was a decision that each woman has to make for herself. Then at the age of 17 a friend of mine told me in an off hand way I had an abortion today. On the surface I was supportive. But I went home to my Mom that night and I cried and cried for her little baby. Now I am a Mom. I've seen the little hearts of my sons beating at 6 weeks. And as an adult I've seen friends desperate to have kids and unable to. I think that those babies are lives being snuffed out, and I cry for them and the woman who do not realize that in todays world there are other options. And I agree with one poster, there are too many woman who use it as birth control. And its those ignorant woman who make me think it should be illegal. That wasn't my friend's first abortion i later learned and I would bet it wasn't her last. But I wouldn't know because we are no longer friends.

I don't think ending a human life can be anything other than dramatic. But I suppose the girls who use abortion as birth control feel I'm being dramatic also.

I am sorry but to say no .In my country ,the government allow couple have two child at most .Many couple only have one child now .So they will make sure the baby is health ,and make sure that the baby can come when they prepared . But many baby come when the couple donn't have enough money to bring her .and many babies unborn are diagnosed ill.so abortion is cann't atop in our country.

I don't think many women use SURGERY as a contraceptive.
Having a baby is big decision and it doesn't always turn out for the best for the woman, the man, OR the baby involved.
Good for you not wanting an abortion, but bringing an unwanted child into the world is not a good decision when there are other options.
I would never judge a woman who had had an abortion, I doubt it's a decision they took upon lightly :(
As for giving your biological child away, well that's not everyone's piece of cake - besides, it's not just parenting that changes your life, it's pregnancy and birth too.

of course not. i get sick when i hear news about abortion and about mothers who leave their babies just to escape the responsibility. abortion is murder and it should never be legalized. i guess the best way is for people to learn ways of effective contraception.

I think it should be up to whoever it is whether they have an abortion or not. It is a personal choice and should NOT be controlled by anyone else. Yes it is wrong for someone to use it as a birth control method but you are going to have bad people out there with anything you do and that should not dictate how the good people out there should have the right to do what they want with their bodies and make their own decisions. If it was ever made illegal then that could force people to go to some sketchy place that isnt safe to get an abortion and that would just lead to a lot of diseases. Let a woman choose what to do, this is a free country.
