Why are people against stem cell research?

I can understand some people being againt stem cell reserch if a aborted fetus is used however if they use ambilical corad bloode what is the differnce. Stem cell reserch could cure many diesase and we are going to ban it. It could be the one good thing to come out of a sad thing like abortion.
