9 years ago my Son brought home a little white Kitten that was near enough Dead, she was not even old enough to be away from her Mum
Well at the time I explained to my Son that she might not survive. He said "But you will do your Best Mum" and I told him of course I will. I held no hope out for this little Darling.
First thing I did is bath her to get rid of all the blood and dead Fleas on here, she was so weak and delicate I had to be very careful. I then wrapped her in a Towel and gently rubbed her for a bit, we already had a Kitten that my Son had got for me 2 weeks before, of course this Kitten wanted to play and I had to try and keep her away from the poor little one
I looked at the kitten in the Box and she was pure white and had the most amazing blue eyes. When it was time to go to bed as I had work the next Day I was going early I took the Box with the Kitten upstairs with me, I tried to sleep but I couldn't I was scared I would find the little Sweetie dead the next morning
I sat up with her all Night and during that time I tried to give her warm diluted Milk which she eventually drank a bit at 5am but not much as she had no strength
I must have dosed of as the Alarm woke me at 7am
I rubbed my eyes and I rubbed them again when I looked in the Box as there was this sweet little Kitten sitting looking up at me
I decided to call her Lucky and needles to say the Kids where Happy that she survived, I thought that we might have to give her away though because I didn't think that their Dad would let us keep her as he was mad at my Son for bringing me other one, but to my amazement he let us keep her, for all his faults he loves Animals
The point of my Story you say????
My Kids moved House on the 11th of January
Lucky never lost her fear of Strangers and when Strangers entered the House before anyone could stop her she had run out the Door and disappeared
My Daughter was crying when she rang me to let me know well they searched for her for hours they went back every Day for a week, no sign of her we thought she had gone
My Son went to pick some more stuff up from a neighbour who had kindley stored it for them and he looked over the Fence, he got all excited as there was Lucky
He quickly got the Cat box out of the car and the Food that he kept in the car just in case
Now this was 4 weeks after they moved, she looked skinny and not good, she would at first not let my Son get her in the Box but then she realized who it was and saw the food in the Box so she went in, my Son swears that the look she gave him was to say "What took you so long do you know how cold it is out here, well she is in good Health and Condition again and happy
When I chose her Name well it certainly suited her as again she was very Lucky and again it was her hero, my Son, that saved her lol
My Kids 23 and 20 are happy now that she is back and so am I as I was really hoping that they would find her again and they did

Awww, what a sweet story. She is Lucky, indeed!
I have a similar story that didn't turn out so well.
My (ex) husband and I had gotten a tiny kitten from his parent's farm where the cats were overrunning the place. He adapted well and we kept him inside where he grew and grew into a fine little fella. We named him Opie.
Opie did well in the house for a couple of months but started getting restless and wanted out, so we started letting him out sometimes. He was always good about appearing on the doorstep every morning at the same time, often with a 'prize' of some sort for us (you can guess what some of them were, I'm sure).
Well we were moving out to a place with a few acres so we could keep our horses, and wouldn't you know that two days before we moved, Opie didn't come back that morning. We searched and searched, talked to all the neighbors, but no one had seen him.
We came back several times after moving, just to look for Opie and ask the neighbors, but no one ever saw a sign of him again. I'm sure he met with his demise somehow.
Shortly after getting settled in the new house, we took two more tiny kittens from his folks' farm. We kept them in the house to make sure they were healthy and got them 'fixed', then they lived in the barn and had a wonderful life.

Oh yay! Happy ending story!
Thanks so much for sharing that with us with details. Sounds like Lucky was lucky your son found her, and you guys were lucky to have him. And I hope your other kitty still got plenty of love!
You probably already answered this some time, but how old is Lucky (and the other kitty) now? Seems like your son was destined to have found Lucky, TWICE! :o)

Oh congratulations on your big, happy familly! Great also if they seem to get along well. When we had 4 cats, unfortuatnely, they did not get along very well. Only 2 of them seemed to get along. Or with one of our beloved cats, he was able to bond somewaht with others, while the others, even the sisters seemed to dislike each other. But they each still showed their love with the human members. Thanks again for your beautiful story.

awwwww what a lovely story. I know cats have 9 lives for sure. My cat, guinness ran up a lamp post at 10 weeks old managed to get right to the top and then looked down. He froze and clung on. About 1 hour later he had to be prized away from the lamp post by a very kind man who agreed to fetch him down if i made a pot of tea. Sufice to say he got a bun as well. Guinness has now got an aversion to lamp posts lol
blessed be

I'm so happy she's home again, Hon! My little girl kitty, Sissy, was abandoned and my daughter found her in the middle of a back road near her house when she was tiny and not really old enough to be away from her mother either. My daughter bottle fed her and took care of her pretty much 24/7 for weeks then I took her in. She was still a bit sickly so I took her to the vet and turns out she had pneumonia but after getting a shot and some pills to take at home (which is a story in itself...lol) she was good as new. Both my kitties are rescues, and I think that makes them even more special. I can't imagine what I'd do if anything happened to my babies.

This is such a heart touching story, gabs. Lucky is appropiately named alright. Your kids should of put Lucky in a spare room or bathroom till the move was complete so he wouldn't be frightened and bolt like he did. Cats tend to like things the way they are and sometimes, if not kept confined, will run away and go back to their old home. Glad your son found him back at their old home.

That is such a wonderful and remarkable story gabs!! Thanks for sharing it! I'm so happy Lucky came back home. It goes to show that one is to never ever give up hope. We never know what the future holds. I'm still hoping I get my two dogs back some day. They were either stolen or they got out and took off. I'll put up a picture for you to see. Sissy is the german shepherd and Candy is the black lab. It's been since Nov 17th, 2006 since they've been missing.

That is one lucky cat.
My first cat, was my best firend. She and I were littlerally raised together. We were the same age, born around the same time. Like we were sister.
Then my father decided we had to leave her on a farm while visitng relatives. It was the last time I saw her. Still can't stand to go out there.
